COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Regionally grown American pale malt is blended with rich European malts to produce a lighter bodied beer, bright in color, with a taught white head that keeps track of time as you sip. Then there are the hops – four pounds per barrel to be exact. Willamettes, Cascades, CTZ and Summits give this brew a citrus punch and spicy character that greets you in the nose and embraces your mouth with a clean, crisp bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy gold pour, white head with lots of nice lacing. It’s a good, clean pale ale with a hop bite at the end. Kind of classic to the style. Glad to see this place in our old neighborhood.

Can shared by a friend. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet malt, tropical fruit and earthy hop. Malty flavor with tropical fruit accents before a grassy hop finish.

This was on tap and poured into a mug. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange to amber color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. A light stringy lacing settles around the glass. The smell had a sweet and lightly spiced semi-peppery aroma running under a sweet maltiness. The taste pretty much copied the smell and carried a slight spice into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me. Overall, I say this was a pretty nice APA that I would definitely have again.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2016 Shared 12 oz. cans, poured to snifters showing a cloudy, orangey gold color, with a presentable head of soft white foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose started with some basement dankness, then earthiness & pulp, with maybe a bit of citrus as orange. Light to medium bodied, the taste provided a very lingering, earthy, rind-like, and dry hop bitterness propelled by lively carbonation. Not enough mellowing malt to take the edge off. So much better on tap, as a recent shaker-full at Pizzeria Pezzo in White Bear Lake, MN.. Lightly hazed, with a sudsy head, fruitier nose as tropical fruit, grapefruit, and pineapple, medium bodied, and pronounced, citrus & rind bitterness that was lingering, but more palate friendly. +.5

12 oz. can from TheHOFF43- thanks again, Kyle! Canned 8/28/14. Pours a clear gold with a big off-white head. Notes of straw, pale and sweet malts, grass, cracker, light florals, and orange zest. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, lightly bitter mouthfeel. Pretty simple APA. Not bad.
