Tap at the brewery. Pint glass. Black with tan head that sticks around for drinking enjoyment. Roasted malt and some citrus hops on the nose. Some smoke. Taste is pretty standard black IPA but it’s above average. Lots of hop with a roasted malt backbone. Little chocolate and coffee. Really enjoyable hop-centric effort that is a good flagship for the brewery. I’d purchase with my one last silver dollar. mnurda (1289) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 23, 2015

Pours a dark brown with a big dark tan head that lasts forever and leaves good lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus and some chocolate. Taste has bittersweet chocolate, some roastiness, citrus and a combination of bright roasty and piney bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth drinking and a good blend of flavors. Not very complex but very enjoyable.
