Houblons verts enrobés de mélasse, caramel et céréales aggressivement rôties. Simple, juste assez sucré, finale sèche, buvabilité honnête. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Tap/can. (From notes) Pours a deep brown to black. Aroma is roasted coffee/chocolate and a thick dankish hop. Taste is the best Black IPA i’ve pretty much ever had. Hoppy, bitter, dry, chocolate, light roast coffee. Tripplebrew (778) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Pours an opaque chocolate brown with thick frothy tan tinged. Aroma is sprucey with white grapefruit. Flavor is almond, spruce and vanilla. Body is light and cleansing. Scrubs the mouth. Carbonation is average. johnnymusky (983) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 16, 2014
Pretty tasty black ipa...reminds me alot of sierra nevada black ipa...a decent black but a few better out there. UkrainPubCrawler (121) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 10, 2014
A very tasty American Black Ale. Plenty of hops with lots of depth and character. The caramel, chocolate and roasted flavors come through nicely.

Poured from can into a tulip glass. Light black color with off white head. Deep resins and pine from the hops. Chocolate and caramel from the malt. Nicely balanced black ipa. Nsanders (1150) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - APR 18, 2014
Tap at Ward 6. Reddish black with a tan head and heavy lacing. Piney and lemon hops, burnt sugar and tea. Taste is sweet with a piney bitterness. Medium body with a foamy feel. douglas88 (9420) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 18, 2014
12 ounce can. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. A sweet chocolate nose with some smoke. Bitter rye, oranges, chocolate, dark malts, lingering rye bread. Pretty mellow. AirForceHops (7322) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 6, 2014
750 ml bottle I got in a trade with queenholly. Thick lasting tan foam chillin on top of a pitch black liquid. Great retention. Nose is chocolate, ash and resin hops. Flavor starts lightly sweet with chocolate, followed by light coca with a lasting, real long lingering pine resin. The thing that is really surprising is this was bottled in 09 / 2012. It’s amazing how much pine still remains in the flavor. The texture is chalky with a dry finish. Real nice drinker. coreyvan (15) - Fridley, Minnesota, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Cask - hopped with mosaic- thick black appearance. Light frothy head. Aroma of camel and coffee. Taste very powerful. earthy hop notes followed by caramel and finish with a dry bitter feel.
