Pours dark black with a beige head. Smells of hops, chocolate and roasted malts. Tastes the same. Very good balance and easy to drink. A great example of the style. cubs (10639) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Tap @ Indeed. Pours a deep black appearance with a light brown head. Toasty chocolate malty, cocoa, piney, minty aroma. Rich roasty chocolate malty, light coffee, a touch burnt, sprucey, piney flavor. Excellent body and delicious stuff. portableparty (2362) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 12, 2012
12 oz. can to glass. Pours brown black with a tight foamy (almost creamy) khaki head that settles to a foamy film a shows signs of lacing. Aroma has a well mixed scent of piny grapefruit hops and roasted malt and subtle bakers chocolate. Taste is bitter hops and then the roasted chocolate malt comes out and blends in well and has a nice spice finish. Palate is full and a little creamy with a dry finish. Really nice black IPA! Awesome to see some more amazing beer being made right here in Minneapolis! DalzAle (2037) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Can. Rich dark black pour, thick half inch tan head and an aroma of chocolate malt, and oats. Flavor is nice hoppy chocolate, peat and piney on the aftertaste. Very nice, looking forward to trying a lot more of their beers.

355 ml can via Piscator 34 (thanks again my friend!). Pours a nearly opaque brown with a nice thick chocolate colored head. Aroma is citrus, toast, touch of pine, and a little molasses. Taste is roasty malt, almost coffee like, perhaps a touch of alcohol. Full, smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very nice beer, well done Josh!! Reminds of me a harder version of Mill Street Coffee Porter. budznsudz (582) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Pours dark with a nice foam head and huge lacing. Aroma is outstanding with incredibly fresh pinecone and floral hops. Taste is a hop bomb with a floral bouquet and a nice piney flavor. Really nice black ipa. 1st class. ChiGuy68 (602) - Illinois, USA - JUL 9, 2013

Had it out of a can, poured a dark brown hue with a mild malt coffee aroma. The taste is a perfect marriage between a hoppy IPA and some coffee mall! kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 6, 2014
Can. Pours a flat black body under a nice frothy light brow head that had excellent retention. The nose is a mixture of roast, chocolate malt, citrusy hops, and a little bit of a floral note. The flavor is a perfectly balanced mixture of chocolate malt and bitter fresh hoppiness up front, with the roast emerging a big stronger on the finish. Great lingering citrusy finish that really hangs around. Medium bodied with a slight resiny cling from the hops. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Excellent beer, just about perfect Black IPA for my tastes.
