On tap at brewpub, pours a dark brown/black with a small tan head. Not picking up much espresso in aroma, lots of hops, citrus, and chocolate. I’m really enjoying the balance of the bitter earthy espresso with chocolate and bright hops here. Put this on nitro please!!
On tap at Indeed. The aroma on this is incredible - such rich coffee, roasty, absolutely delicious. Flavour is a bit odd, almost too much going on with the hoppy IPA character and the coffee, but still very tasty. deyholla (11759) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 23, 2015
Sampled from the Firkin at Happy Gnome Firkin Fest 2015. Pours black with a bubbly brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of espresso and roasted malts with slightly sweet dark grains underlying. Flavor has a nice dry bitter espresso note with dark grains and roasted malts backing as well as a hint of bitter chocolate. BVery (10609) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Sampled at Winterfest 2014. Very dark brown pour with a white head. Coffee on the taste, and a really nice bold coffee aroma. Good brew! redbeard3 (107) - - FEB 1, 2014
Had on tap at the brewery in a shaker pint. I had low expectations for this beer after having had other Midnight Ryder infusions and being under impressed with the flavor. Don’t get me wrong I love the Ryder, but it’s potent flavors mask almost anything you throw on top of it except for the espresso in this case. The coffee marries well with this black ipa and gives it even more stout like character. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - APR 20, 2013
Tap at brewery. Pours dark. Lots of coffee on the tongue, nice hop flavor. Very good actually.

On tap at Indeed, dark coffee pour with tan frothy head. Very light scents of coffee and hops. Taste is better than the aroma beholds, big bitter coffee, malt and hops. Almost gives off a spicy like taste from the mix, not bad!
