Nice, malt-forward holiday beer. Dark brown/ruby pour, decent head. Aroma of ginger and malt sweetness. The ginger doesn’t come through quite as much in the taste as I was hoping, but instead you get a subtle, nicely balanced, malty brew. Very solid overall.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2017 This is a nice beer. Ginger is definitely present in the aroma and heavy on the tongue. a cloudy brown with a cream-colored head. the head doesn’t stick around long. It’s a medium body beer with hearty flavor.

drpimento (3814) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 3, 2017
This is the winter warmer version. Aroma is malty with some spice. Flavor is like nose up front more bitter than sweet along with the spices finishing more balanced. Body is fairly mild not too heavy.

JPDIPSO (6296) - Wauwatosa, USA - NOV 29, 2017
Clear, bright chestnut color with a diminished off-white head. Scents of ginger dominate, but are not overpowering. Some wisps of toasted malt, dark berries, leather, and alcohol also present. Smooth feel. Light sweet start with some blackberries and toasted malt. Middle has some wild honey and spice, as the ginger works its way in. Fairly simple finish. Linger has a sharpness to it, with the ginger and alcohol vying for attention. A nice fireside brew.

22oz bottle from my pal Chad. Poured at the Lakehouse. Reddish with white head. Christmas cookie, sweet, gingerbread and spices. Good stuff.

ljthiessen (1507) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 31, 2015
Bottle. Clear amber-brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma is fruitcake, cardamom, honey and ginger. Taste is a little sweet, some honey and ginger as it warms. Not a great winter spice beer, but not awful.

Nice color, but this beer is all ginger. No complexity in aroma or taste. There’s a hint of maltiness, but the ginger is overpowering. Eat some raw ginger and save the money.

jbruner (5448) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Pours a deep copper from the bottle with thick tan head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of woody smoke, earthy spice, and caramel malt. Taste is more toward the malt and spice, but light and easy, good balance. Really nice holiday spice.

vikingguy (1106) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - DEC 11, 2015
Dark brownish red with thick foamy head. Aroma of ginger and fruit cake. Taste- spicy and sweet with rich toffee malt. Notes of orange zest and honey and ginger. More fruit cake and a touch of cloves on the back end. Quality Christmas ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
