16 oz. pour, on tap at Buster’s on 28th. Consumed on 11-4-12. Pours a mostly clear copper with a slight haze and a small amount of beige head. Aroma and flavor are sweet and feature marshmallow, sweet potato, and pumpkin elements. Medium body. Lively and frothy in the palate. The beer is essentially an amber ale with a touch of organic sweetness.
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2017 Draft at Stone Arch MSP. Poured clear orange color with an average creamy off-white head that was lasting with fair lacing. Medium sweet fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a interesting beer. tennisjoel (1496) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - OCT 22, 2016
This beer makes good use of the sweet potato. Very true to style. I’m just not a huge fan of sweet potatoes personally. Drinkable but that’s where it ends for me. superspak (6200) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2015
12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 1/13/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and yam/spice notes with solid strength. Taste of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance, complexity, and solid robustness of dark/bready malt and yam/spice flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good spiced amber ale style. All around good balance, complexity, and solid robustness of dark/bready malt and yam/spice flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. Delicate sweet root aroma. Smooth mouth feel reminiscent of rye flavour. Yams definitely rounded out in the flavour. Simple and good.

Bright Amber with off-white head. Unique fragrant aroma...fruity, musty, earthy with cinnamon and something like over-ripe apples like you'd smell at an orchard in late fall. Taste- malty and spicy. Brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and you definitely get that vegetal sweet potato flavor. Smells and tastes like autumn. This is better than most of the pumpkin beers on the market because it's not cloyingly sweet and they don't overdue it on the pumpkin pie spice. Nice autumn selection.

Canned sample via and shared with oakbluff. Amber in colour with medium carbonation. Assertive spicy aromas of mace, nutmeg, cinnamon and sweet potoato. Dusty malts in the mouth, along with more mace and black pepper. Lighter bodied and dryer than expected. Fairly enjoyable overall. outlawskies (564) - Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2014

Tapped at the brewery. Transparent reddish orange with thin, almost non-existent white head. Faint vegetable smell. Taste is a bit underwhelming, but sweet and yam-y (actually tastes like sweet potato). Feel is pretty thin, but smooth. Overall, certainly not offensive, but not great either. Could have a little more flavor. All that being said, still better than I expected, and ver drinkable. Would be a good session beer if you like this kind of thing.
