COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special blend of malted barley - lightly to darkly roasted - creates layers of toasty sweetness, balanced by the citrusy notes of Cascade hops. Burnt orange with a laid back finish, this is the beer of Austin.

Bottle at the Continental Club in Austin while listening to James McMurtry. Pours clear, brownish red with a white froth on top. The nose holds leaves, toasty grains. Light to medium sweet flavour with more grainy malts, some dried berries, leafy hops, earth. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. More of the same in the finish - leafy bitterness, toasted grains. So so overall.

Clear amber/copper with a fast fading bubbly ivory head. Nice semisweet caramel and crackery bready nose with a touch of English toffee. Crisp flavor of the same notes but the toffee is a little more forward. A touch bready and caramelly, and a gentle English hop tone to bring harmony. Basic but semisweet and delicious.

Sounds good on paper but largely fails to follow through. Not bad but I’d take a beer of my Austin youth (Shiner Bock) over this any day.

Can. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy off-white head. Aroma has sweet malts, sugar, cane sugar, light toasted. Medium carbonation, light dry and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sharp dry bitterness, toasted, sweet malts. A bit bland.

Amber. Similar to a fat tire but a tad lighter. Caramel. Malty. Tasted on wilson cousins trip.

Originally rated on 9/8/08. Kind surprised here not bad at all. The best thing about this beer was the aroma sweet toasty malts and a little friut mixed in. Mouthfeel was a little light but ok for the style. aroma didnt translate into the flavor as well as hoped but it was pleasant enough, glad i finally tried it

Amber brew with decent head and a caramel malt aroma. Taste was just as an amber should be with a semi-sweet caramel flavor balanced out nicely with some hop notes. Got this under the label Oklahoma Suks and being that I am not a football fan only have to assume UT was facing off with OU in some big game or something. At any rate still a good brew.

Dark amber with a tall light off-white head. Weak aroma of dark caramel malts. Sweet malty flavor with a very mild hops character. Just okay.

330ml bottle at home. Did not enjoy this amber. Quite metallic aftertaste and really sweet.

Bottle. Clear copper color, lots of carbonation, light body, almost a spiced taste. Not my favorite Amber. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
