Slick-looking beer! A mostly dark-brown, but with a hint of amber and orange, beer,
which has a mostly white head. It looks dark, classy, and pronounced. This really looks
the part of a dark and devious imperial red ale. The aroma is of hardy, heavily
caramelized crystal malts and a touch of alcohol. It’s meaty, malty, and thick in the nose.
It’s a great-tasting brew, much like an over-caramelized imperial IPA that’s well-rounded
in all aspects. It almost reminds me of beet juice or cabbage - as odd as it sounds, it
actually tastes really good. Ana thinks it’s "okay", but I really like it. She says you have
to be in the mood for it, but I think it makes for a really great imperial red. It’s not
overly-sweet, and finishes almost completely of a very green, cabbagey dose of plant-like
hops. Very nice! Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 5, 2013
16oz draft 12/14/12 (Whole Foods-Lamar) Pours reddish amber with a nice off white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same with more hops than malt. This medium to full bodied brew was quite tasty. Nice job.
