UPDATED: JUL 17, 2015 Roasted chocolate nose. Black opaque color. Smooth velvet mouthfeel. Roast chocolate malt. Very balanced. Excellent
Had to come back and re rate since my first score was early on. Still drinks nice but not a 4.4.
On tap at Independent, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out lots of oatmeal and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is robust, with lots of dry oats, toasted malt and a bit of hoppy bitterness for good balance. Bone dry but hearty and full-bodied. A fantastic example of the style. Pours dark brown/black with a a lasting off white lacing. Taste is coffee, leather and chocolate. Pretty thin but respectable. JohananaV2 (278) - Hurst, Texas, USA - AUG 25, 2017
Very solid tasting oatmeal stout. Drinks rich, had tons of flavor. A really good beer to have on a cold winter day. Would like it on tap to really get the full effect

Pours hazy dark red, almost black color with a small beige head. Aroma is hoppy and a bit fruity even, caramel, some malts and faint bread. Flavor is dry bready and roasted malty, hops, resin and caramel. Carbonation is a tad too strong here. Okay otherwise.
33 cl bottle @ home. Thanks Timo A!

Aroma has cocoa, some hay and some chocolate. Fizzy and somewhat foamy palate. Flavour has artifical vanilla, some salty licorice and mild pot coffee tones. Also some lactic acid – I wonder if there’s even a small contamination here. The amount of CO2 tries to ruin the show here.
Tap at The Brass Tap, Austin. Dark brown color, not much head. Rye bready, toasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Burned malty, a bit boozy, bready flavor. Oat makes this smooth. Not so balanced for my liking but ok. jerseyjohn71 (308) - Corsicana, Texas, USA - JAN 22, 2017

The bottle only says Convict Hill Oatmeal Stout. It doesn’t say Imperial or the abv. I guess this is this. Black color with a small tan head.
Dry roasted malt, licorice, some cough drops and some medicine notes in the aroma.
Super balanced flavor of dry roasted malt, licorice, cough drops, salt, dryness and some medicine notes. Really tasty. Amazingly smooth and balanced. This came totally out of the blue. I thought I bought a mild oatmeal stout... Wow! Nice!
Bottle. Chocolate oatmeal malt and dry grass aroma. Black with small tan head. Moderately sweet chocolate oat malt and mildly bitter dry grass/hay flavor. Body on the light side. Pretty good.
