I thought that this was a pretty solid IPA. It is fairly on target for what I’m looking for from this style, and it drank pretty nicely. They did a good job with this one.
Not much in way of aroma pale malt, a little honey, not much hop. Golden amber pour thin head. Pale malt grain and light hop. Light honey. Detergent possibly. Not overly flavorful. Not bad. GODiSSOUTHERN (390) - Virginia, USA - JAN 24, 2012
The new version of this beer is way improved. Better balance and hop flavor. Good malt backbone. Good citrusy hop character. Strykzone (7797) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Pint at the Old School restaurant in Austin, Tx. Hazy and light coppery. A smallish off white head leaves a layer of lacing. A citrusy nose has oranges and grain. The neginning of each sip starts with bitterness that would try to take over but it quickly calms. Citrus flavor is big with some grapefruit. Pine flavors balance nicely with the citrus and caramel is the third leg. I also taste grain. Served too cold but the flavor is more than ample enough to power through. Is this a double? Flavor and ABV both indicate that it is. Good stuff.
