Stash IPA is defined by the hops. 7 additions of 4 different varietals, Columbus, Galaxy, Nugget and Cascade create a hop explosion that finishes clean. A dank, resinous and enlightening hop trip. Itís got mad hops.
Head Brewer Michael Waters: "The Stash is a reincarnated beast. It makes sense to go to the source, and IPA for me is defined by the West Coast. Three pounds of hops per barrel, 100 IBU, and a large dose of Columbus hops so the aroma matches the name."

Bottle at home. Pours light golden with lacy white head. Aroma is citrus and piney hops. Taste is nice piney hops, some citrus. Balanced by light malts bringing a faint sweetness. Well done bitterness. Nice!

Strong rich and sweet hoppy aroma and start. Not crisp or leafy but full and sugary. Toasty bitterness

Independence Stash IPA has a fairly thin, white head, a semi-clear, orange-gold appearance, powdery sediment suspended throughout, tight bubble streams, and good lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of sharp and strong hop resin, with a background of pine, citrus, and white bread. Taste is hop resin forward, with sweet white bread, some grapefruit (but, not too much), and sweet, white bread. The hop bitterness sets in, as one drinks this down, and the alcohol is not present in aroma, nor taste. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, and prickly, and Stash IPA finishes mostly dry and relatively easy drinking. RJT

Clear deep golden under a thin rocky white head. Dank earthy and resiny nose with a little Indian incense. Big bitter leafy flavor thatís dank and resiny and a little like weed. Pale malt body thatís just balancing enough but the earthy dank tones are pretty prevalent.

Draught from esquire in San Antonio. Poured a nice orange, slight floral kick, some pine. A good ipa.

Draft at the source. Hazy orange amber color, fluffy white head. Nice aroma of pine needles, orange peel. Taste is big and stick citrus and pine. Very nice.

Crisp, very slightly hazy blonde golden coloured body with a thin, half centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of bright hops, citrus, light malt, alcohol and a bit of grass and herbs. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy, herbal and perfumey hop character up front with a strong malt backbone and an assertive spicey yeast note, for the style, especially. Aftertaste shows mostly herbal and grassy hops with a pungent malt backbone and some stronger alcohol flavours as well. Overall, a nice and pungent IPA with not too much hop bitterness, but more of a grassy and kick from the citrus than anything else. Decent to try, but not great and not in the same boat as the best IPAs from the West Coast. This is pretty much what I was expecting (a middle of the road IPA), until I saw these scores, but this beer doesnít warrant this type of rating. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whip-In in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 11-August-2014.

Tap at Houston beer fest. Citrus and pine throughout. Medium body. Light creamy finish. Easy to drink and refreshing. Nice
