COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

tmrmwel (2204) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 20, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown, with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is burned malts and cold coffee. Flavour is quite acidic with burned malts and coffee. Quite ok; nothing more, nothing less.

Almost clear, dark brown body with a noticeable red hue. The off-white head is small and frothy, but it’s fairly long-lived and leaves some foam on the glass. The aroma is moderate and quite simple: it’s mostly ashy roasted notes with a touch of yeast and some faint coffee. Pleasant, but a bit boring. The taste is light sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. The moderate plus flavours follow the aroma, with ash and roasted notes dominating. Cold filter coffee is evident especially in the aftertaste, and as the beer warms up some nice fruity notes start to appear. I actually don’t get any chocolate in this one, maybe it’s buried somewhere under all the ash. Dry mouthfeel, light to medium body and a rather lively carbonation. Not terribly exciting, but I wouldn’t mind another one.
[50 cl bottle, enjoyed 2 years before BB date, from Meny Oslo City, Oslo]

Fra flaske 0,5l på Olympen 30 Jul 12. Kullsort. Lavt, litt farget skum som stabiliserer seg på et lavt nivå. God sjokolade- / lakrisaroma med antydning til røyk. Smaken har røykpreg og litt brent malt. God - men litt kjedelig.

Chocolate, coffee, leather, smoke. Very dark, it is clear they are looking to porters.

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2011
Bottle from Vaaland Spesialbutikken. Dark brown body, big, cloudy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, brown sugar and hints of caramel. Taste is very similar to the aroma, but with a more present chocolate tones. OK, but nothing grand.

jikvig (269) - NORWAY - NOV 20, 2010
Black in the glass, but you can see when you pour that it´s not a very thick black. Aroma; Coffeechocolate in one, and almost After Eight feeling to it. Tobacco, not fresh, but the smell you find from people that have been smoking pipetobacco. Flavour; Not the biggest body, with 4,5%. Still, the coffechocolate feeling is still there, some green notes on top. Summary; Really nice nose, the taste is not bad eighter but alittle weak.
