ALLOVATE (3015) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 16, 2012
On draught @ Indi Brew haus, Mindarie Keys.
Sunny, orange gold with good clarity. head is a mostly lasting mess of white that leaves good legs. Very subtle nose tinged by the house liquor. Grassy, spicy and herbal with very subdued pine and sour citrus. Quite piney, sharp and slightly metallic as a good flavour combo. Again, way too chilled on draught, the beer needs a good hour near a firplace to thaw out. Buttery, grain base, husky but slick with a buttery length. Not much hop definition though they are definitely there, floating bitterness and grassy edge adding top it. Little in the way of fruit esters. Don’t know the hop used but might be a PofR clone. Very light bodied. A little gassy too but that can be changed. Would like to see this on the handpumps to compare - get rid of the gas and the chill. Easy to drink but a bit of a let down!
