COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ales were first brewed by British Brewers for the Brits when they occupied India. These ales were invented to meet the demand that the Brits had for their pints… The problem was that without refrigerated cargo containers the beer was spoiling on the voyage over; so the brewers discovered that if they “hopped” up the beer and rose up the alcohol content that the beer would arrive in fine shape. Following that long tradition Indian Wells Brewing Co. has made a classic IPA. This ale comes in at a more traditional IBU of 52; so if you’re looking for a crazy over the top IPA; sorry try another beer… But is you like a clean; dry hopped beer that compliments spicy foods or just like the taste of hops; give our Amnesia IPA a try today!

12oz bottle - This is an IPA for what kind of beer drinker exactly? Because it’s gotta be the person who doesn’t know what an IPA should be about, or the person who’s a lush and doesn’t care. An overload of boiled cabbage in the aroma. Dirty penny/iron-y flavor void of any hops. Didn’t seem infected at all, just a crappy beer.

another cardboardsque offering from IW. more lively hop profile than the other 7 we tried, but really, that’s not saying much. the cloudy light orange looks identical to the pale ale, smells and tastes a little old and musty with a muddled midwest hop profile."

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick, we’ll retained, ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 14) body......nose is cereal, light hop spice, no esters....taste is minimal cereal, light slightly dour acid, mild hop bitterness.....mouth feel, medium body, slight astringency, alcohol hidden. This bottle was most likely improperly handled. The beer is slightly sour, which is utterly wrong for an IPA. The underlying malt and hop backbones are mild and in balance, but are dominated by the off notes. BJCP 5/2/9/4/5

Pours an amber color with off white head. Some citrus and pine on the nose, but not overly aromatic; these follow onto the palate. Finishes ok.

Wittales (762) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 14, 2013
Appearance was clear gold with diminishing rocky white 1 finger head, tiny spotty lacing. Aromas are simple sweet pale, wheat, crystal malts. Hops are slight citrus and hints of pine, no alcohol. Taste are sweet light corn, pale base with light lemon, grapefruit, mild orange and slight pine, no warming at all. Palate was soft smooth CO2 with light- medium body, average length fruity easy bite for a IPA. A good pale, ohh IPA.

Pretty color and serious head. Aroma is fairly weak. Decent hoppiness with caramel throughout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in Los Angeles (Ballistic Brewing Gargoyle India Pale Ale). Pours a hazy amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma is more of caramel malts than hops; the aroma is kind of sickly sweet too. Taste is not too sweet and has a relatively decent bitterness to it considering the aroma. Light-medium body, average carbonation, smooth on the palate. Overall a decent IPA, I just wasn’t enamoured with it.

IrishBoy (4228) - Bakersfield, California, USA - AUG 3, 2013
12 oz bottle from the brewery. Nose is light citrus, lemon rind, and a caramel bite. Clear copper orange with a medium, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with a hint of caramelly sweetness, and some white pepperiness.Like they said not overly hopped but refreshing.

A - Slightly hazed amber with an off-white head that leaves descent lacing. S - Sugary toffee malt, some buttery diacetyl, leafy, butterscotch T - Medicinal-like herbal hops, toffee underneath, some band-aid and buttery flavors mixing around. Some light unkown fruitiness. The rough medicinal-herb flavor grows stronger as it warms and gets pretty distracting. M - Good carbonation, light to medium body. Good looking and average mouthfeel but there’s something not right about this beer. Serving type: bottle 11-24-2011

Corn nuts and peppery floral hops. Hazy golden thin foam. Flavors of corn nuts soap metal and d battery. Wow. Thin tangy metal mouthfeel. Bad.
