OK, it’s late and I’ll maybe pretend not to have read all the negative reviews. From a 12 oz bottle into a Konigsbrau stem glass. Pours amber brown with big, very large and distinct head. Aroma of subtle malts, pumpkin pie associated aromas, and honey. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of moderately tart fruit, slight malt and grains, subtle sugar. Overall refreshing, easy drinking, modest tart-malt body... nice. This version I’d do again!! benpickens (512) - Camarillo, California, USA - AUG 14, 2016
Pours brown with little carb; pumpkin and allspice aromas; muddled taste with a confused finish. J_man (996) - Tustin, California, USA - OCT 30, 2015
A slight pumpkin vegetable aroma from a slightly hazy amber orange body with a tan head. Taste is sour and metallic with some honey in the back. There are some pumpkin pie spices I think, but they’re hidden behind the horrible sourness that I don’t think is supposed to be there. Body is watery and flat. Sorry guys, this is going down the drain. tightslice (1309) - Redwood City, California, USA - OCT 19, 2015
Bottle from World Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is nutmeg, sweet malts, cloooooooves. Taste is sour (but not in a nice tart sour way) and cloves...like a soured, spiced pumpkin pie. Something filthy. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 5, 2015
Bottle:   Somewhat of a musty and stale example.   Does have some light nutmeg and cinnamon like
spices, but its also a bit sweaty.   A little clove in there too.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   A
touch of wet cardboard on the backside.   Not bad, but the musty staleness and wet cardboard detract a bit too
much from the spices.   Otherwise it would be a solid example.

Pours a thin head on a clear dark straw body.
The aroma is cinnamon candy and pumpkin.
The taste is watery pumpkin and a touch of cinnamon and clove.
The texture is thin and fizzy.
It’s not offensive, but doesn’t taste like much either. IrishBoy (4199) - Bakersfield, California, USA - NOV 6, 2014
12 oz bottle from World Market, Bakersfield. Nose is light pumpkin, nutmeg, and cloves. Clear amber orange with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet and spicy pumpkin pie. Not the best pumpkin ale I’ve had but no where near the worst! slowrunner77 (12040) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 27, 2014
still tastes like the flavor is from a kit, but this is easily the best and least offensive beer I’ve had from them. pours amber orange with a fizzy thin white head that quickly disapates. mouthfeel is a touch thin and prickly, but smoother as it warms. flavor is just what you’d expect from an average pumpkin beer...spices with a little sweet malt and a touch of hops. similar aroma.
Bought a 2014 (or who knows, maybe a 2013) as a joke, and damn it was worse than before. Multiple simultaneous drainpours. Way to go IW! thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - JAN 1, 2014
On tap at Pizza Port on New Years day, for some reason. (16oz pours for $3, they had to be getting rid of this ASAP) Pour is a hazy golden brown with white head. Aroma of gym socks soaked in allspice but not in a funky and good way. Taste is a nasty hot pumpkin pie spice mess. Avoid. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - NOV 6, 2013
Bottle: The aroma consists of consists of light-moderate nutmeg, cinnamon, light graham cracker, and pumpkin. It pours a mostly transparent amber with a touch of haze and a large yellow-tinted off-white head that has good retention. There is a good amount of soapy lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of nutmeg and cinnamon. It’s instantly dominated by moderate-heavy sour lemon/lime in the finish. There are also some vegetal notes that struggle to get past the lemon/lime flavors. It’s light bodied with lively and prickly carbonation. Overall, it smells pretty good, but flavor-wise, there’s some serious problems here.
