Sampled during St Crispin's Day Feast, paired with rye and seeded nut toast, fried scone, hopped honey, rabbit rillette, white turnip mustard, black plum jelly, spiced pepitas, herb butter. The beer itself was dark clear brown, roasty coffee ground aroma and a soft roast taste with a dry finish. Oakes (19434) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 27, 2015
Medium brown, chocolate, sweet, cocoa and a little nuttiness, good balance. Ferris (17173) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 9, 2015
Draft - Nice roasty notes and some dark chocolate. Deep jet brown with a light brown head. Cocoa and lots of nutty sweet notes. Odd for a porter but pleasant. Lubiere (14262) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 29, 2012
A deep dark porter with a thin brown head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate with light rum notes, not bad. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with light vanilla, coffee, toffee, nice. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Sept 29 2012. Sammy (13017) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 22, 2011
A great roasting, dark colour, a bit sweet. Drying finish. Chocolate and coffee. Golding hops.

500 ml bottle. 7.2%. Thanks to Maple Leaf Timo!jercraigs (11095) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 22, 2011
Clear dark reddish brown color with a small tan head.
Sweetness, toasted malt, some coffee and some dryness in the aroma.
The flavor is sweetish coffee, sweetness, toasted malt, some fruity sweetness and some dryish cardboardy notes.
2011-09-21. Black body with a nice beige head and lace. 4+ Modestly roasty aroma, modest sweet malt undercurrents. 7+ Flavour is similar, modest roast with a sweetish malt base, very light roasty bitterness. 7+ Smooth average to medium bodied palate. 3+ A bit mild for a porter, I actually had to double check to confirm I hadn’t been served the mild, but it is superbly drinkable and like their other offerings on tap tonight feels like it is designed to be full flavoured yet emminently sessionable. Nice. 7+/5/7+/4/15 On tap as "Breakfast Porter" at Burger Bar, Toronto

2011-08-28. Black body with a nice tan head. 4+ Pleasant porter flavour - mild roast over a fairly sweet body, dark malt, light herbal
anise like character in the finish. 7+ Aroma has a tangy fruity quality to it. Mild roast over dark malt. 7+ Smooth average plus body. 3+ A pretty solid porter! 7/5/7/3/15+ On tap at Brewers Market, Toronto
50 cl bottle (7.2% abv) @ Timo A.JoeMcPhee (10140) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 26, 2011
Pours dark brown color with a small off-white head. Cocoa and coffee notes on the nose, mild fruity tones, caramel. Flavor is bitter cocoa and malty, chocolate, oat, subtle vegetable tones, maybe the coffee has gone too old here. Gets slightly worse as the beer warms up.
Tap at the Rhino. Deep brown pour with a thin, tight tan head. The aroma is nicely chocolately. A little bit of soft coffee and a fairly rich malt base. There is a fairly fruity aroma through the middle (blackberry and a bit of toasted fruit as well). Soft and slightly sweet with a lingering sort of earthiness. Nice and balanced. It doesn’t really taste like 6.9 but it’s still tasty. mabel (10003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 9, 2011
