3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to my sister for the growler. Pours a somewhat surprising to me dark brown with a small velvety light brown head. I guess I read Wit and I thought cloudy golden. Aroma is nutmeg and roasted malts. Taste is spicy with nutmeg and toasted malts. Some molasses. Interesting brew.
Tap at Bar Volo. Reddish brown with smallish light beige head. The aroma is fruity, oranges, brown sugar and caramel, somewhat smoky, dark fruits, vague and indistinct spiciness. Tastes more like a random Dark Ale or Dunkel rather than a Wit. Flat on the palate with not exactly the refreshing Wit character I was hoping. Confusing but in itself not undrinkable. thorongil2 (3074) - , Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2016
(tap) clear, brigh amber colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies; lightly sour, refreshing flavour with a medium long, tart finish neongolden (1649) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 28, 2016
(On tap @ Indie, Jan 12 2016) Pours hazy burnt orange with a large off white head and lace. Aroma of caramel, light blood orange notes, nutmeg, assorted spicebox, weak. Palate of crackery malt with slight sweetness, herbs, soap and some winter spices. A bit of fruity sweet water profile. Finish is fairly light with slight bitterness, a bit of grain and dusty yeast. Light to medium body with average carb. I found there was very little going on here. Quite uninteresting. crazy_cat_lady (587) - - MAR 1, 2015
Growler from Indie Ale House. Warm chocolate brown with white head that dissipated. Aromas of clove, nutmeg, banana, caramel. Bit if sharpness in flavour, with caramel, banana, clove, nutmeg. Not bad. Spab (3844) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2014
On tap at Volo. Pours a cloudy orangey amber with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is quite spicy with banana and hint of clementine. Flavour also very spicy - ginger, cinnamon and others - toast, banana and gentle clementine. Average body. Nice.

Pour at the Indie. Notable addition to the description, as told by the server, is that this is a Wit with clove, pomegranate, and clementine. This is a miss by Indie, who consistently make great beers. Smells of pine, grass. Taste of grass, pine and a really weird aftertaste of cigarette smoke. (My wife describes the after-taste as +"totally weed" not smoke, just weed.) Not a good beer. Sammy (12204) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 30, 2014
Kind of a winter warmer, on tap at the brewpub. Lacy, spicy, ok drinkability. Others will like it better. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 27, 2013
[5047-20130102] Tap. Light curried spicy nutmeg grains. Slightly hazy, red brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy subdued spices in the flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/3/6/3/14) 3.3

Overheard: "Two ounces all at once tastes better."
January 2, 2013 - on draught at Indie Alehouse. Bright and refractive clear bright copper with a small fizzy/creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma is spices and ... mostly just spicy, a bit like the old GR Jubilation. Taste is only mildly spicy compared to the aroma, hardly any alcohol - some bitterness from some source ... a little light bodied, airy enough but not all that carbonated, finishes quickly, just leaves a grain and spice aftertaste, a little dry. Darkish appearance with a thin lace. Spice/herb flavour with a plastic texture. Some toastiness in the finish.
