2013-01-02 - on draught at Indie Alehouse. Kinda black with tan/light brown creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma - well, black IPA - dark roast but not too much coffee or sweetness, and lots of resin bitterness, definite alcohol presence. Taste follows - simple, drinkable, sneaky-boozy ... solid body, decent carbonation, a little astringent from the hops inititally, tails off to balanced light roast / dry bitterness, and an emerging herbal almost minty character - really good, hides that alcohol fairly well too. (On tap at the brewpub, March 8 2014) Pours a clear dark brown with a bit of bubbly off-white head. Aroma has roasty coffee bean, citrus rind and flesh, some herbal/floral character, bit of dark sugar/molasses malts. Flavour has lots of citrus hops, slight pine and mint, along with a roasty coffee/chocolate malt profile with just a little sweetness. Finish had citrus pith and ’green’ hop notes, moderately bitter, some roast and a little alcohol heat. Fairly full-bodied with low carb, smooth. Nice integration of roast malts and reasonably bold hops, not quite a black IPA but in the same ballpark. Tasty stuff. Ontbeertaster (2360) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2013
Tap at the brewery early this year, aroma is mix of fruitiness and roasty, taste is pretty full it has a lot going on, it tastes of grainy fruity and a light roast, overall pretty good. jjarovi (59) - markham, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2013
Mega - big and really good. Reminds of a US craft beer. Deep, rich bitter and malt notes in perfect balance but also a big velvety body. With som age this is a 10/10 beer. Love this one. Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - FEB 22, 2013

Aroma: aromatic, plenty of citrus, darker character behind. Fresh op punch. Not overly rough , nor bold. Alcohol present giving warmth. 8-
Appearance: poured dark brown-black. Tanned lighter in size , rocky top. 4-
Palate / Taste: Wow, strong bold coffee front. Dark malts with accompanied hops. As in aroma warming alcohol noticed at finish.
A dark brown IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate coffee with loads of floral hops, meaty and licorice notes and menthol. In mouth, a smooth chocolate malt with a nice herbal floral hops, molasses, treacle, and alcohol warmth. On tap at A Night with Amsterdam and Friends, Feb 2 2013. rob6239 (677) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 12, 2013
Pours dark black with tan coloured head that laces the glass perfectly. Has just a faint aroma that is hard to pick up. Taste is mild sweet with a light bitterness. solidfunk (9788) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Not quite sure how to place this one.kind of a floral bitter beer. Not sure if it quite jumps the shark, if its witchshark we are referring to. Pours very dark with wonderful carpet lacing and creamy head. Smells boozy and floral. Tase is bitter, bordering on astringency without being unpleasant. Adds a grapefruit peel note. Medium to low carbonation. On tap at brewpub. mabel (10002) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 31, 2012

Overheard: "I’m quite racist with my beer."

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown with a small frothy off-white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel or toffee along with light leafy hops and some light sugary sweetness. Flavour is malty along with some alcohol, cocoa and leafy hops. The alcohol is very slightly off-putting. Medium bodied. Pretty good.
