September 18, 2013 - Golden Tap Awards - draught. Hazy gold with a smallish frothy off-white head. Beautiful aroma - a floral standard spicy Belgian golden ale with apple brandy and must - almost a 9. Taste follows, more bitterness, and alcohol - still spicy but dry; no apple but definite white wine. Slick, light body, finishes dry and slightly acidic cidery - really liked this stuff.

This beer has a fantastic personality, but it’s a shame about her appearance in the glass. Sampled alongside Sir Helsdon at our most recent research meeting. Tastes of over ripe citrus & white pepper & unripened grapes from the backyard.

[5771-20130907] Tap. Light ginger spiced grains aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a quick foamy white head. Tasty ginger notes in the flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

On tap at Volo. Pours a clear golden orange with modest-sized white head. Aroma is full of white wine character with green grape, pear, flowers, hints of citrus and gentle woodiness. Flavour is also quite wine-like with fair amount of barrel complementing with fruity notes (green apple, pear, green grape, lemon). Fine carbonation. Nice.

On tap at Bar Volo. So-so drinkability. Big yeasty aroma. Its a saison, its also very filling and not so complex. Too much saison yeast for me. Lacy.

Kind of like a wine pour without head or lacing. Has some bubblegum, hay and a little bretta. Finishes sour and a little bitter. Nice mix, nice balance. Very interesting - good collab brew. Tap at volos.

On tap at Indie Alehouse. Pours a clear, pale yellow with a white ring of a head. Slight lacing. Aroma is fruity and slightly acidic. Hints of yeast, sugar, and bubblegum. Taste balanced between fruity tart and acidic. Low-medium body with a medium carbonation. Pretty clean in the mouth with a dry, wine finish. Overall pretty good. Probably the best white wine barrel aged beer I’ve had. Good job!

Another exceptional beer from Indie. Thank you! Beautiful smell of apricots and wheat. Nice solid golden colour, thin head that breaks down fairly quickly. Light on the palate, full malt flavour.

Tap at BarHop. Pale golden pour. Very delicate herbal/pale malt aroma. A touch of soft pale malt and a little bit of light earthy spiciness. Bright orange fruitiness with a little bit of sweet clean malt. Light and slightly vineous with a bit of soft mild tartness. Really lovely beer.

2013-09-16. Crisp dark yellow body with a small beige head and lace, very light chill haze. 3+ Aroma is interesting, it has a triple like character of malt and alcohol but with a bit of a twist, doughy biscuity malt with a kiss of caramel and floral notes. Flavour is quite fruity and estery up front, tangy finish has a lightly mineral quality to it, whisper of lime like acidity shows up briefly but doesn’t return. Biscuity tripel like malt comes out later in the glass. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Enjoyable. I liked it but looking back at my notes I don’t really feel like my description adequately articulates what makes it different. I also realize now that it was probably the wine influence.. huh. On tap at Bar Hop, Toronto
