A reddish brown ale with a thin light brown head. In aroma, beautiful bourbon barrel with caramel malt and British hops. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with woody bourbon notes, light licorice and smooth whiskey alcohol, very nice. Sammy (12210) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 12, 2013
Bar Hop dark beer event. This hits the style of bourbon aged brown beers. The Bourbon and booziness is paramount. The base beer is ordinary. So-so drinkability with this type of beer. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 12, 2013
2013-03-10. Very dark brown near black body, modest tan head. 3++ Fairly interesting aroma of green hops light vegetation mild brown ale grains, oatmeal like notes. Second glass is sweeter and maltier on the nose. 7++ Flavour is similar - Lightly dusty oatmeal brown ale grains, modest hops and bitterness throughout, light fruit. Bourbon barrel character is quite mild, and the alcohol is near invisible! Very smooth average bodied palate suits it well. 3++ One of the only ones I went back for seconds of today, very nice. Deep brown pour. The aroma is nice. Lots of vanilla and some toasted barrel character. A touch of toffee and cocoa along with the toasted malt. There is a fairly assertive bitterness on the back. It’s pretty nice stuff. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2013
[5153-20130310] Tap. Roasted grains aroma, not a ton. Black body with a long-lasting creamy mocha head. Bitter roasted malt and lightly burnt wood in the flavour. Full body. Not a ton of bourbon but lots of dry wood, but it is pretty nicely balanced and very drinkable. (7/4/8+/4/16) 3.9

(Dark Water Series 2013 @ Bar Hop, Toronto, ON)
This is good stuff. Strong sense of bourbon here. Pours pretty black with some lacing. Drinks on the syrupy side. Aroma of cask, hops, musky roast malt. Carbonation just how I like it - slightly below average. Finishes a little sweet and boozy with some bitter hops. On tap at barhop. blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2013
Draught at Bar Hop for ’Dark Water Series 2013’. Pours a very dark brown with amber hues and a small diminishing frothy tan head. Slightly mild aroma (for the style) but quite nice, with roasted malt, notes of bourbon and vanilla, chocolate and light hops. Nice flavour is a bit boozy but not enough to detract, with roasted malt, bourbon, lots of coffee, light hops, dark fruit and a big coffee-ish roasty bitter finish. Medium bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good. Radek Kliber (7363) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - APR 25, 2013

Aroma: bolder approach of blended chocolate, coffee with aromatic hop backing. Very American.8-
Appearance: poured dark brown, beige creamy top. Neat presentation. 4-
Palate / Taste: hefty with caramel front. Smooth with lower carbonation. Barrel treated with hop play reminded me of Firestone brews. Strong barley wine feel. Skilled brewing is apparent.
On draught at Bar Hop. Deep ruby-brown with a small tan bubbly head. Oily aroma, roast, vanilla, alcohol - taste follows, quite bitter. Think ah oily body, boozy, bitter finish. Good, but not quite my thing. A little Creme brûlée- like. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
Deep amber pour with a nice head and clinging lace. Chocolate malt. slight liquorice, fruit and earthy notes. Tasty brew.
