[5153-20130310] Tap. Roasted grains aroma, not a ton. Black body with a long-lasting creamy mocha head. Bitter roasted malt and lightly burnt wood in the flavour. Full body. Not a ton of bourbon but lots of dry wood, but it is pretty nicely balanced and very drinkable. (7/4/8+/4/16) 3.9

(Dark Water Series 2013 @ Bar Hop, Toronto, ON)
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 20th 2013) Poured a chocolate brown with bubbly tan head atop it, big lace. Aroma has toasted malts, ashy, chocolate, vanilla, light barrel, bit of hops. Flavour has caramel malts, some moderate woody character, roast, bit of pine hops, good balance, not too sweet to start nor hoppy to finish, but rich and flavourful. Body is medium-full, booze is there but not overwhelming. Very solid collaborative ASA. Ontbeertaster (3208) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 5, 2013
Tap, pours a dark brown, aroma was a bit bourbony and it was in the flavour as well a fair bit of vanillia quite strong, overall it was an interest brew Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2013
A reddish brown ale with a thin light brown head. In aroma, beautiful bourbon barrel with caramel malt and British hops. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with woody bourbon notes, light licorice and smooth whiskey alcohol, very nice. tomthompson89 (1983) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2013
Chocolate brown pour. Not much foam a touch of beige. Nose is a little bourbon. Flavour is amazing. Bourbon is big but well melded with the dark ale flavours. Was not sure I was going to like this one but really really impressed!!!

Aroma: bolder approach of blended chocolate, coffee with aromatic hop backing. Very American.8-
Appearance: poured dark brown, beige creamy top. Neat presentation. 4-
Palate / Taste: hefty with caramel front. Smooth with lower carbonation. Barrel treated with hop play reminded me of Firestone brews. Strong barley wine feel. Skilled brewing is apparent.
On tap at bar hop. Cola black, almost no head. Light delicate carbonation. Fair sheet of lacing. Aroma is cigarette and ash, molasses, dark fruit, black cherry. Oily medium mouthfeel. Slightly bitter with a sweet undertone. Dry coffee finish. Complex but not as powerful as I expected it to be. Very nice. HogTownHarry (7065) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - APR 10, 2013
On draught at Bar Hop. Deep ruby-brown with a small tan bubbly head. Oily aroma, roast, vanilla, alcohol - taste follows, quite bitter. Think ah oily body, boozy, bitter finish. Good, but not quite my thing. A little Creme brûlée- like. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
Deep amber pour with a nice head and clinging lace. Chocolate malt. slight liquorice, fruit and earthy notes. Tasty brew. blankboy (7808) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2013
Draught at Bar Hop for ’Dark Water Series 2013’. Pours a very dark brown with amber hues and a small diminishing frothy tan head. Slightly mild aroma (for the style) but quite nice, with roasted malt, notes of bourbon and vanilla, chocolate and light hops. Nice flavour is a bit boozy but not enough to detract, with roasted malt, bourbon, lots of coffee, light hops, dark fruit and a big coffee-ish roasty bitter finish. Medium bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.
