Bottle - 500ml. Pours an opaque, black body with a thin, lasting, beige creamy head. Complex, well balanced malty aroma with chocolate, coconut, and vanilla hints. Its robust malty taste carries woody, chocolate, roasty, and plummy notes. Ends with a long, strong, sweet/woody finish. Very interesting.

Bottle from brewery bottle shop. Very dark with big brown head. Strong aroma of bitter coffee and chocolate chips, some leather and cherry notes. Chocolate and cherries upfront with leather and roasty coffee middle, lingering bitterness as expected with an imperial stout.

Bottle from bottle shop. From the label and name was expecting a glowing green beverage but sadly it poured a dark chocolate brown colour. The bourbon barrel aged brew had the lovely aroma of bourbon and a lightly bitter taste. Added to an au jus also made a fabulous addition to a gravy.

Amazingly rich and smooth, perfect mouthfeel for a big rich stout that enhances the rich subtle sweetness, deep malt and roast and lingering bitterness. Might be a bit too strong to drink every day but I could try.

500 mL bottle. Dark, dark brown, with a medium head the colour of chocolate ice cream. Nice lookin’ beer. Roast in the nose a little booze, a tiny bit of coffee grounds. This is a very hoppy IS, with the hops taking on an earthy tone in conjunction with the malts. It’s interesting; it’s good. They are actually the dominant flavour. Which means that I’d like to see a little more from the malt profile.

Tranquillity (2564) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2015
Draught at the brewery. Black body, quite light brown head. The aroma is different from many others. Instead of coffee and chocolate it has a distinct sense of sweetness to it, with bitterness of hops shining through. The palate is oily at first, but soon explodes into foam which covers all the flavor. The bubbles cover an flavor and the only thing left when swallowing is alcohol, which absolutely should not be in an imperial stout. quite disappointing.

Bar Hop (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

The beer poured a solid black with brown edges and a dark brown head. The aroma was coffee, chocolate, and plenty of roast. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was a nice balance of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee.
