COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hvedebock offers a soft body dominated by dark malt, spicy aroma, and fruity vinousity. Hvedebock is great for a cool summer evening on the terasse, or a evocative fall day at the fireplace. Enjoy it accompanying cheeses, oven braised game, or stews made of beef. Hvedebock is brewed from generous use of barley- and wheat malts. Hvedebock should be served at cellar temperature. Pour the beer in a huge glass and give it time to develop. Shake the last 10-15 ml. before pouring.

13.08.2011. 0,5l Bottle. Dark brown colour with off-white head. Rich beer with lots of malty flavours. There are dark malts, caramel malts and malt sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Good strong beer with very nice balance between malt and alcohol. Malty, sweet and very smooth aftertaste. Very good beer!

Bottle. Pours a dark brownish color with a small off white head. Aroma is quite malty, with nutty notes, sweet and caramel malts, along with some subtle spice, bannana and slight bitterness. The flavor is again more on the malty side, with lots of caramel malts, some breadiness, sweet malts, nutty notes and the subtle spice and banana. The body is light to medium with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Overall a solid brew, just not as good as some of the great Weizen Bocks, like Aventinus for instance.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2014 Bottle. Pours dark opaque brown with medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet plum, apples, toffee, chocolate and hints of licorice. Taste is initial sweet then medium bitter and sweet in excellent balance. Body is creamy and smooth with soft carbonation. Finish is oily and long with notes of fruit, caramel and coffee. Excellent beer!

Defreni (3286) - Husum, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2011

20-MAY-2011, bottle @Marielyst sommerhus with Morten. Murky brown with huge beige head. Neutral and weak malty nose. Rye bread taste, very creamy. Sweet and sticky. Nice bock.

Koelschtrinker (21175) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 20, 2011
Ganz OK. /11/10/12//11
