I wanted to like this more than I did. Labeled a strong ale with honey and orange, I could definitely taste both. However, it became pretty sticky. Medicinal in a way. The sample was fine but I think a whole bottle would not be great. KansaiBeerLvrs (5504) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 28, 2015
11% a week old straight from the brewery as a gift for my Birthday by Nev. It pours a lovely vibrant orange with a thick light beige head. A really nice nose of oranges & honey. I feel like I am walking through an orchard in bloom. Big sweet maltiness initially then a fairly neutral but potent hop bitterness ending softly with a honeyed kiss of oranges. While you do get some warmth from the high ABV it is a very smooth beer. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 17, 2014
On draft at Slaters 50/50 in RC. It pours a deep auburn orange color with an orange head. The aroma is rich caramel and fruit. The flavor is odd with intense florals...rose, sage and lavender. Lots of orange peel with caramel, strong alcohol and herbal leafy notes with some more orange zest in the finish. Strong and weird, but interesting. jtclockwork (17654) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 26, 2013
Bottle shared by Alan at his house. Pours burnt orange with off white head. Nose and taste of tangerine, orange blossom, honey, orange peel, caramel malt and sugar cone. Medium body. ABUSEDGOAT (2904) - California, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Hazy amber color, huge orange aroma with lesser notes of grapefruit and citrus as well as sweet malts. Medium to full bodied, lightly sticky, fairly sweet. Big orange flavor, doesn’t feel like an IIPA. ASA or BW that hides alcohol well.

Bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours ruddy copper with a foamy beige head. Aroma is orange zest? Lots of malt too. Med + body. Flavor is sort of barleywine brown sugar with orange. And then some honey. This is really much more of a barleywine than a DIPA IMHO. Well done on the heat. Not a problem there. It’s a quite different drink - the adventuresome will be rewarded. The aroma is strange, almost like a little bit of rotten egg? Little sweetness Very strange, appearance is butterscotch, bitter/sweet taste, good IBU. The alcohol can be tasted even well after the swallow. Something about that smell just doesn’t do it for me, very strange. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Tap at Inland Empire. Double IPA??? What the what. Pours a chill haze deeper red. Weaker head. Very odd medicinal nose with dried citrus, potpourri, and honey. Taste similar with big perfumed citrus, mint, honey. Some raspberry cough drops in the nose. Very sticky, medicinal. Strange, syrupy. Not a DIPA. Just very bizarre. My favorite beer from these guys. The heavy hitting malty, hoppy brew is probably one of my favorites period. The honey and orange mask the alcohol so well. Delicious! oc4111 (122) - USA - AUG 19, 2012
Bomber poured into a Bruery tulip glass. Pours an almost cola like color with light barely coming through the edges. Aroma and taste is sugar, dark stone fruit, caramel. The hops barely come through on the end but there’s still an almost cloying sweetness at the end. Not bad, but a little heavy on the sweetness.
