Creamy but just bubbly enough. Well balanced and hoppy. Caramel and vanilla from barrel aging. Head does not last long. A gift from my sister enjoyed on New Years Day. Wish I could buy this in Florida.

Really made Canada Day that year. Light redish brown pour with a medium tan tan head. Sweet aroma, oak, toffee. Great malty taste, semi sweet, caramel, vanilla, oak. Medium somewhat syrupy body. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 2, 2014
Pours a semi-clear clear light brown/deep copper with a thin creamy white ring around the glass, Googles and little to no legs. Aroma is brown sugar, vanilla, oak, toffee, and bourbon. Flavour is brown sugar, bourbon, toffee oak, vanilla, and mild alcohol. Very tasty and flavourful but a bit more of a desert beer. Reimer96 (1778) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 2, 2014
Pours hazy dark amber with a small white head that leaves soapy lace all over the glass. Aroma of maple, bourbon, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, toffee and some grassy Aroma. Taste is toffee, maple, brown sugar, earthy hops and a nice alcohol warming on the finish. Excellent oak aged beer but a bit too sweet overall. bcBelgianbrew (115) - , British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 25, 2013
Just too sweet for my taste, but as is the style - malty sweet. Aroma to me smells like artificial fruit esters. Good balance of alcohol with the sweet though.
It’s over 2 years old in the bottle. Too long? This is a winter beer, not really for summer IMO. My question is perhaps I&G might do better to put this out in the Fall season or for Christmas/New Year’s. Canada Day??? I guess it’s not something I want to drink on a hot summer’s day at the lake.
I like the idea of oak aged beer better than I like the taste. I bet if I were drinking this at Christmas I’d like it better. Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2013
Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy tan head. The aroma holds light peat, some toasted toffee, hints of tangy berries. Big sweet flavor, lots of toffee, toasted sugars, bread, mild peat, overripe berries, golden raisins, touches of vanilla, a bit of honey-cured ham. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sticky sweet finish, lots more honey-cured ham, toffee, toasty sugars, berries, overripe fruits, hints of maple syrup. Interesting stuff. A bit cloying at points but not bad overall.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2013 330mL Bottle from Liquor Depot. 8.3% in 2011. I have been waiting on this all week. Dark crimson pour with a bubbly tan foam that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is bold, capturing a fruity note of dried grapes, mild citrus, and a whiff of Crown Royal (Canadian Rye whiskey). Lightly carbonated. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium-full bodied, this packs a punch. Strong alcohol character balanced by the gentle bitterness of the citrusy hops. Hint of toffee and oakiness in the finish similar to other I&G brews. Absolutely superb. j12601 (13114) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - APR 5, 2013
Bottle at a tasting at Andy’s. Pours a clear brown amber with a small white head. Lots of little dirty flocculated yeast in there. Sweet and malty with a bit of wood and a caramel. Medium bodied, sweet and bordering on cloying. Long sweetness and a bit of wood again. Decent, but nothing amazing. jredmond (8645) - New York, New York, USA - APR 3, 2013
Bottle shared with Andy and jay. Pours a hazy amber with no head. Aroma is straight maple syrup sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of sugar, maple syrup, malts, honey and super vague vanilla. fiulijn (21264) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 30, 2013

Hazy amber color with some sediment. Light bourbon aroma. Good malt flavor, with nice bourbon vanilla, sweet oak compounding; sweetish overall, but with correct bitterness.
Not overly complex, but pleasant.

Clear amber beer, good off white head. Softish and semi dry palate. Semi sweet beer! Soft vanilla wood. A little orange. Super subtle bourbon. Dry soft finish. Not bad at all!
