COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We are pleased to present this special Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer bottled to celebrate Canada Day 2012.
Alongside ale malt we added Aromatic Barley Malt with imparts the beer’s rich toffee colour and satisfying maltiness. We used Goldings hops from 3 farms in East Kent to impart a delicate balancing bitterness and a fruity twist. We then slowly oak matured the beer to unlock the delicious flavours of vanilla and toffee locked inside the oak grain, only bottling it when we deemed it to have matured to perfection.

330ml bottle. Poured a thick creamy head and has a dark amber colour. Somewhat apparent alcohol scent with a pretty strong aroma of vanilla. Same goes for the flavour, vanilla and milder roasted malts. Aftertaste is a bit bitter, not too offensive though. The box the bottle is housed in has abv of 7.7%, 2012 edition.

An improvement over the previous year which was also great. Clear copper pour with a medium tall off white head. Sweet aroma, caramel, oak, some vanilla. nice balanced body with caramel, oak, maple syrup, balanced by decent bitterness.

Bottle 33cl from FoneFan thanks and shared with Calisky. A clear copper-amber beer with medium head. Nose is on blond caramel with intense oak notes. A quite sweet caramel beer, notes of blond and buttery caramel at the beginning then caramel notes goes on a burnt caramel touch with dry grassy bitterness, the whole encapsulated with round oak and light maple syrup. Properly hopy, nice beer, a bit too sweet.

Belle couleur caramel, petite mousse blanche. Super nez bois de chene et de sous bois. Gout de sirop d’erable et de bois de futs, un peu sucrée. Peu de carbonation. Fin de bouche caramel brulé

Pours a fairly clear brown colour with a small spotty white head. Aroma is oak, toffee, vanilla, toffee, moderately spicy, some mild dark fruity esters and lightly grassy. Flavour is toffee, vanilla, oak, spice(clove and allspice I think), caramel, mild alcohol, grass mild dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Very enjoyable!

Pours a clear dark amber with a small white ring and no lacing. Aroma of vanilla, toffee, bourbon, allspice and dark dried fruits. Taste is caramel, bourbon, wood, camelized sugar and a nice spicy finish with some dried fruits. Finish is nice and dry and gives a well balanced flavor.

330ml clear bottle, dark copper color, with a frothy bubbly beige head, with a mild vanilla, light sweet toffee, caremelized, biscuity, toasted malt nose, with some fruity, oak barrel, caramel, faint spicy notes in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice vanilla, grated coconut, oak woody barrel, toffee, earthy grainy caramelized, toasted, biscuity malty character, with a light butterscotch, fruity, faint floral tobacco leaf hop flavour, leading towards a mild whisky liquorish, vanilla oakiness finish.

Bottle courtesy of Ryan. Pours a clean amber with little off-white head and decent lace. Nose of caramel, toffee, vanilla, some hops. Sweet and slightly boozy. Medium body.

Pours a rich orange with small white head. Sweet oaky, vanilla, caramel, toffee notes. Very sweet, even for I&G! My preconceptions convince me there’s maple syrup there, that’s how sweet it is (and how boringly clichéd my stereotypes are). It’s got light malts, toast, oak, vanilla, caramel in the mouth. Interesting but not brilliant.

Bottle (clear glass, but kept in the gift box since I got it last year). Lovely red-copper-orange colour with a very faint haze and a small off-white head. Aroma of vanilla candy, sweet toffee, rye whisky and a hint of Cherry Coke. Rye is much more prominent in the flavour, along with bit of butterscotch toffee, and finishing notes of tart cherry and oak. Medium bodied with a mellow carbonation and soft finish. Quite nice, even with more than a year of aging on it.
