Bottled. Some vanilla and slight bubblegum. Over oaked. Like a poor man’s malt - over accentuated. Drinkable but touristy.

A rich copper colour with a pronounced oak flavour and mild hoppy aroma. Poured a fine head that was not lasting.

Aroma of raisins, caramel, toffee, woody oak and a touch of green apples. Definate peaty smoke and oak in the flavour. Mild caramel, quite dry. Copper with a white head. A little thin in body.

This is a fantastic beer, it has a malty taste and a slight hint of whisky flavour and a lovely dark whisky gold colour and faint head. I dont think ive ever had a scottish beer before. (scot-newk) beers dont count.

Bottle. Brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is strong and whisky like and the flavour is aniseed, toffee, dry and strongly alcoholed . Overall disappointing.

definitely buy again. The aroma confirms that it was matured in oak aged barrels. Flavour has a hint of whiskey and it has a lovely gold colour.

A hazy amber beer with a collapsing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of whiskey and caramel, and lesser notes of alcohol and smoke. The flavor is also very sweet, which makes it sticky in the mouth. It has notes of whiskey and caramel, as well as hints of smoke. A lovely thick caramelized beer-whiskey.

Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Beige dense head. Smokey aroma. Light tarty. Has some sweet and fruity notes. Flavour is dry and smoky. Grapy, dry and light smoked end. Fruitnotes are there. .

Pours a fine though disappearing off-white head on a clear orange body. Nice and full sweet caramelly and slightly smokey aroma with a woody tone. Malt and caramel flavor, sweet at first with a sourish finish and plenty of fruit. Smokey tones again. Flavorfull and soft in the mouth. Really nice and a good surprise from Scotland!

Bottle from Shipley Asda. Dark copper to chestnut coloured with a slim, just off-white head. Great complex aroma, thats making me salivate; sherry and vanilla hit you first, then whiskey and malts. Taste: I’d have to agree with the commercial description, pretty damned stunning; same elements as in the aroma but the whiskey is accentuated. Medium to full bodied, lightly carbonated, with a warming finish. Excellent.
