I have loved every Innis & Gunn beer i have tried, but i do not like this one and it is no suprise. Stouts are my least favourite kind of beer, never really liked any, but i had to give this beer a try. It was way too sweet for my liking, and had too much of a whiskey after taste. I also do not like whiskey lol.

Deep brown, smooth foamy brown head. Roast, subtle aroma. Big tasty chocolaty cocoa flavor. Smooth, cool palate.

This is apparently the first I&G I rate... Surprising, considering it was one of my first forays into cask aged beer. I did enjoy the original when I first tried it, then sampled a bunch of variants that I didnt care at all for, including the rum cask and others. Since last I tried it, its probably been about two years... Oh well. It pours nice enough, dark dark brown with medium, thick tan head leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aroma is cask but not overly so. Theres a bunch of stuff in here, some german sausage, some leather, but also clear bread, hints of roast and maybe, just maybe, some dried plums. Taste is alcohol sweet with much stronger barrel presence, although its clearly Irish barrels, not as overly sweet as bourbon barrels and not as peaty as single malt barrels. Quite nice, with a chocolate touch and a port finish. Body is sadly too light, the only negative aspect of the beer, really.

Bottle from Capones. Pours turbid dark brown with 2-finger brown head. Nose is roasty malt, cacao, oaky. Good nose on this. Tastes oaky, malty, with notes of whisky, brown sugar, and molasses. This one may be (And I didnt verify) the best I & G beer I have yet had.

Pours a black colour that allows a small bit of light through and a small light brown ring around the glass leaving great sizeable legs. Aroma is irish whiskey, roasted malts, oak, and caramel. Flavour is smooth oak and whiskey, roasted malts and some malty sweetness with a dark chocolate finish.

Bottle. Poured a brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Chocolate, caramel, lighter whisky and lighter earthy/woodiness.

Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt with whisky and some sweetness in the background. Taste of roasted malts with notes of chocolate and a whisky finish. Some oak in the taste and a good body.

Dark mooolases in colour. A light skiffing of head. Very little carbonation. Bountiful aromas of dark cacao, burnt caramels and toffee. Lively sweetness at the first sip. Smooth on the tongue with a soft bitter ending. Creamy and heavy, staying true to its stout origin. Tingle of Irish whaasky flavour that leaves an exciting warmness in my barrel. A tasty treat indeed.

Very palatable! Sampled in Snifter Pours almost opaque. Fantastic head retention and lacing. Excellent chocolate and tobacco notes that come through into a long finish. Carbonation is right on point. The whiskey notes are very prominent but not overwhelming exhibiting just the right amount of vanilla and oak. Great value too! Cheers!

Perfect 5. I cant take a point off for anything. I might be able to in future tastings but this is by far my favorite beer ever.
