COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special bottling of Innis&Gunn has been matured in rare oak barrels from a famous distillery in Ireland. These barrels had been used to mature one of the great triple distilled Irish whiskeys. The result of this unique maturation is a big, full flavoured, complex beer with a delightful warming finish.

Perfect 5. I can’t take a point off for anything. I might be able to in future tastings but this is by far my favorite beer ever.

Awesome chocolate and dried dark fruits.Aroma of slight chocolate and sage. Nice thick rich head. Great body and barrel aging put this over top.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2013 Poured into a tulip glass. Dark brown in the pour, almost black in the glass. Finger of tan head that held well and great lacing. Some good roasted malt smell, caramel and toffee. Tastes like milk cream, harsh malt with a tease of sweet, bitter follows, ends with a good burnt malt grip. The oak cask is the backbone of it all, bringing structure and balance. It has a warming effect but not in the usual whiskey cask aged beer style. Soft and creamy texture. Low carbonation, medium body, not as heavy as other cask aged beers. One of my favorite whiskey cask aged beers. It’s between a sipper and an easy drinker, which for a cask aged beer is impressive. Not hardly sweet at all, which is great.

This is a great beer. I had tried the others but couldn’t find this one. It is a very smooth malty beer, with a dry hop finish. The part that sets this apart is the Irish Whiskey aging. The flavor really comes through and is evident in the nose. Find this one, it is their best.

An incredible stout! The only thing holding this from perfection is the very thing I love about it. The whiskey note is there, and makes this a unique twist to a great, full bodied stout, bit it also gives it a harshness on the third gulp in on the taste which just serves to reduce it from perfection. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Smoking With Chris. Pours clear cocoa brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is rum, alcohol and toffee. Medium in body with nice carbonation. Flavor is sweet and delicious. Toffee, vanilla cocoa and burnt woods are all present with enough alcohol bite to offset the sweetness. I absolutely lived this one.

Aus der Flasche am 2017-02 getrunken. Typische Innes & Gunn Aromen treffen auf typische, sehr runde Stout-Aromen. Dazu ist diese Bier verdammt süffig. Klasse Teil!

Flavours of chocolate. Vanilla aroma. Slightly sweet. Smooth, but not great mouth feel

Good, complex beer. The whiskey flavor wasn’t overpowering like most whiskey casks are.

Pours a beautiful dark brown from the bottle. Subtle aroma, and not what you would expect on the palate. Superb! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
