Originally marketed simply as Innis & Gun Oak Aged Beer. "Original" was added later.

Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into English pint glass. Appearance: Honey colour, lots of small bubbles, small head. Aroma: Wood, malt, hint of vanilla and honey. Palate: Medium body; many soft bubbles. Taste: Wood, sweet, maybe hint of spinach; light bitter aftertaste. Overall impression: Interesting and tasty, but not for everyday or against thirst.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 Uh yes please, more of this one. Nice smokey oaky-ness, with hints of toffee. Dark. Drink on a low-key evening in front of a fire!

zvsn (2224) - ISRAEL - SEP 21, 2017
Bottle. Clear copper amber color, stable creamy white head. Herbs, honey, cookies, floral, a bit soapy and skunky. Pretty sweet, almost cloying, malty, flavors of honey, vanilla, herbs, alcohol, wood, mild bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth. Interesting flavors but way too sweet and not easy to drink.

ruuurd (283) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2017 The label is spot on: dark beer with hints of toffee, vanilla and oak. Especially the oak is subtle and nice. Great amber pour as well!

Aroma: 6
Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, wood and vanilla.

Appearance: 2
Clear/hazy golden/amber beer with no/a slight off-white head.

Taste/Palate: 7/3
Medium sweet with malts, caramel, wood and vanilla.

Overall: 12
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Does not taste like its barrel aged, but the duration could be the explanation for this. Way too filtered as well for my liking.

rayaron (1927) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - SEP 19, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2017 Bottle. Clear pale golden with white head. The aroma has notes of caramel, honey, minerals and black pepper, earthy, hint of wood. Sweet flavor with notes of caramel, honey, citrusy hops, some wood, alcoholic and earthy. Medium-bodied.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2017 Dealer: Sainsburys (Bottle) Expectations: 'luscious flavours of toffee, vanilla and oak perfectly balance the beers malt backbone & light hop fruitiness' Were expectations met: No Not really that vanillery. It was more hoppy and toasty and even malt whiskey-ish. I felt the bubbliness overpowered the flavours and any vanilla-ish-ness. You know its not a bad Scottish Beer - its really good but the description on the bottle is what let my expectations down. Will I be drinking it again: No
