Originally marketed simply as Innis & Gun Oak Aged Beer. "Original" was added later.

Ingredients: Golden Promise and crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

Poured from 330mL bottle. Clear golden amber colour with white head. Vanilla, toffee, oak nose. Same to taste. Better than the spiced rum version.

Probably my favourite beer. Love the hints of whisky, the caramel flavour and the strength makes it a winner too.

A variety of pleasant flavours infused into a smooth and easy to drink beer.

0.33l bottle. Malty aroma, light caramel notes, light spicy notes. Clear dark golden color, white head. Malty taste, caramel notes, light spicy notes, extra light sour, light sweet, light bitter. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation and malty finish with spicy notes. Ok.

Geur: moutzoetig, biscuit, ietwat vanille, ietwat hout. Smaak: licht moutzoet, wat biscuit, lichtjes vanille, vleugje tannine. Volmondig en romig. Afdronk: licht zoet, licht droog bittertje.

330 ml bottle @home,bb accidentally wiped off ,2018 something. Amber/copper colour, smell of artificial honey (yes, such thing actually exists),alcohol and traces of smoke. Taste is the same. Unpleasant, bordering with disgusting.

Strong ale with a special taste of vanilla, toffee and oak. Less sweet than you will think.

BrewWhatIWant (212) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2017
Pours copper colour with a short lived white head that leaves fine lacing. Aroma is lightly malty with a touch of smoke. Taste is sweet with a biscuit malt note and a bit of toffee and fruit. In the finish there is vanilla, oak, whiskey, figs and smoke. Body is light-medium, and carbonation is moderate. A pretty approachable beer with a surprisingly complex finish. Not an easy drinker though, some of the harshness from the whiskey does carry over.

Lovely toffee and caramel notes. Nice strength and warmth to it. It has a wonderful copper color for such a strong bold ale.
