""""For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.""""

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Bouteille 330 ml. 6.6%.

Sabor a caramelo.

Shared from a fresh 12oz brown bottle into nonic pub glasses. Crystal-clear reddish amber colour with moderate beige foam, lasting with a little lace. A true-to-style Scottish ale, though less sticky-sweet than some, with a drier finish like Odell 90 Shilling, perhaps to appeal more to a modern craft beer/American palate? Subtle grainbill complexity, hint of caramel malt, toasty, nuts, well-balanced with faint earthy/herbal hops, then pleasantly enhanced with definite oak barrel traits: vanillin, black pepper, black tea. Soft, creamy, bready mouthfeel. None of the excessive, astringent tannins so many other barrel-aged beers have. Light-medium body, Well-crafted, easy-drinking, and very tasty.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2016 A different beer this one. Aroma of sweetness and malt. Taste starts quite bitter and moves to vanilla. Ending quite sweet. Light on the palate and smooth. Not sure I?d get it regularly, but interesting nonetheless.
