NOTE: This is the same beer as the Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish. According to Innis & Gunn "they are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same."

Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2017 Colore marrone scuro, schiuma persistente. Si sente molto il rum, ma anche note metalliche e di uva passa. Liquorosa, non si sente molto l'alcol.

klukas (328) - Rijeka, CROATIA - OCT 1, 2017
Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into English pint glass. Appearance: Deep brownish/red colour, with small short-lived head. Aroma: Wood, liquor (rum), toffee, peach. Palate: Medium body; gentle carbonation. Taste: Wood, vanilla, peach, caramel, sweet; caramel/rum/alcohol (watery) aftertaste. Overall impression: Nice and interesting, rich in flavours.

Tretinková fľaška. Žiadny zázrak sa veľmi nekonal. Keby nebolo napísané, tak asi ani neidentifikujem rumový koniec...

rayaron (1927) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - SEP 28, 2017
Bottle. Clear copper with beige head. The aroma has notes of toffee, caramel, raisin, wood and liqueur. Sweet and alcoholic flavor with notes of liqueur, wood, caramel and toffee. Medium to full-bodied.

Parmenion777 (341) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2017
Bottle - pours a tawny brown colour with a small light beige head. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and rum. A sweet caramel taste, some malt, vanilla, rum and spicy wood flavours. Smooth in the mouth, not a lot of bitterness, instead there is some spice and ripe fruit in the finish. Very good.
