NOTE: This is the same beer as the Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish. According to Innis & Gunn "they are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same."

Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

Small bottle from Bottle Jockey in Burnaby. A dark reddish amber with moderate white head and a slightly fruity nose. Tastes of raisins and mixed dried fruits. Not bad at all. 3.4

Under the name "Rum Finish". Amber clear with rich beige head. No specific aroma, just some slightly sour notes. Quite sweet with some 'hint of sourness' rum notes, some bitterness later.

Pivo crvene boje, 6.8% alk.

Bottle from Cost Plus. Clear deep amber in color. Sweet creamy nose. Some vanilla and touch of wood. Sweet malty flavor up front. Creamy mouth. A little bit of barrel, but not much. Fairly flavorful. Fairly thin for a barrel aged beer.

Tofii, karmel, chlebek, drewno.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2018 330 ml bottle marked 'Rum Finish' poured into a pint glass. Appearance is a clear, dark amber mahagony tone, with one finger of white froth, which dissipates quickly leaving sticky lacing. Aroma is rum, molasses, caramel, like the barrels it was aged in. Taste is sweet, plenty of caramel and molasses, some dried fruit, but little booziness, making the ABV unnoticeable. Ends on a strong malty note, nice and chewy like a good brown ale. Delicious!

Inoven (1102) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JAN 28, 2018
Flesje thuis gedronken. De koffiesmaak blijft even hangen.

jalleduc (59) - - JAN 28, 2018
