Originally brewed at Belhaven for Innis & Gunn. Production moved to Wellpark - date unknown.
NOTE: This is the same beer as the Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish. According to Innis & Gunn "they are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same."

Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

As Innis & Gunn Rum Finish. Pours a dark brown, clear, topped with a minimal tan ehad, non-lasting. Mild malty sweet nose with some alcohol presence. Taste is quite woody in the start, alcohol presence easily notable. Finishes with some bittery herbal feel and a bit vanilla-like in the aftertaste. Sharp, strong feel. Not very nice. A bit messy and boozy.

Bottle - 6.8% version labeled "Rum Finish" ; Aroma: sweet rum, malt (dough), predominant volatile rum flavours in retro-olfaction ; Appearance: ruby-brown, clear, tan minimal head ; Taste: medium sweetness, no bitterness ; palate: creamy, below average carbonation, medium body, short finish. A good beer, with very nice rum flavours, almost like sipping a good rum, but way more drinkable. I found it a very good beer to accompany mushroom omelette.

GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 19, 2016
Bottle - 6.8% abv version, labelled as "Rum Finish". Deep orange-hued ruby body with a small and quickly disappearing head. Very sweet aroma - rum is well represented, along with notes of oak, brown butter, coconut, vanilla, and dark sugar. Flavour of rum and butterscotch, with background notes of vanilla, cola, and crčme brűlée. No debate that this is one sweet and sugary beer - but I intentionally waited until I was in the mood for some dessert in a glass, and my relatively high score in comparison to the average probably reflects that.

330 ml bottle with Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish on the label. Pour is bright orange, tiny vanishing head, no lacing. Aroma is sweet vanilla, flan. Taste is cloying sweet, buttery, vanillin. I’m not getting spice. Mouthfeel is watery, clammy.

Backlog. Synchronizing with notes and Untappd.
A lot of wood and alcohol present. Booziness ruined this one for me :/.

NORSAND (103) - Lillestrřm, NORWAY - DEC 12, 2016
Medium deep mahogany colour, small off-white head. Nose: Opens with a slight Bourbon note, then roasted brown / dark malts and caramel. Taste & Palate: The arrival is light, with a touch of caramel sweetness and surprisingly carbonated. It proceeds to a rather medium to light bodied middle taste with some caramel, a touch of burnt oak and some bitterness. The finish is smooth, slightly sweet, with only mild reminders of caramel, rum and hops and this lingers on into the aftertaste which is fairly long (abt 1 minute) but equally mild. A good beer. Not very much rum influence but very well balanced and hence presumably well made. Very smooth but not extremely exciting.
