COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Originally brewed at Belhaven for Innis & Gunn. Production moved to Wellpark - date unknown.
NOTE: This is the same beer as the Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish. According to Innis & Gunn "they are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same."

Has also been seen at 6.8% (Rum Aged)
Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

Dark brown color. Soft & creamy consistency. Aroma is very decent with malty tones. Taste by coffee and rum with bitter end.

Couleur ambrée, mousse correcte, nez sur le boisé. Légèrement sucrée, assez ronde, boisée également en bouche sans y aller violemment sur le Bourbon. Plaisant mais rien de foufou.

Bottle, Innis & Gunn Rum Finish 6.8%. Color: In between ruby and copper, dense cream head. Taste: Pretty complex taste, hard to describe. Medium sweet, notes of rum and oak but not overwhelming, lightly hints of caramel and some hopbitter notes. More rum taste in finish. below medium body and carbonation.

Rustig biertje met geen opdringerige smaak, je proeft de rum heel licht, zeker niet bitter, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very original flavour with sweet tastes like chocolate and rum. Brown colour and light foam. Although the taste is original it doesn’t give a feeling of drinking beer.

F: big, off-white, average retention. C: coppery, clear. A: malty, toffee, caramel, scotch butter, light fruity. T: malty, toffee, dates, raisins, hint of rum, bit woody, medium body, medium carbonation, not bad but lacks some complexity, 6,8%, 33cl bottle from Waitrose supermarket @ Albion Way in Horsham.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2017 Pours a copper color with a big tan head. Aroma is very odd...rum? Almost smells skunked. Initial taste is oak, rum, and roasted malt. Aftertaste is dominated by rum. Palate is watery. Not great. Drain pour.

Pours deep reddish-amber. Medium cream-colored head with fine bubbles. Aroma is brown sugar and wood. Smells like it should be sweet, but isn’t actually. Medium body. More fluffy than silky. Warming.

Bottle tried at home. Pours mahogany with barely any head. Aroma very sweet and alcoholic - rum prominent but also strongly malty with some toast and nuts. Taste oversweet for my preference, rather sickly and thick in the mouth. Toffee finish.

Mahogany with light head. Rum treacle molasses and prunes all there. Great strength Toffee hints and quite sweet. All all excellent bottle at Sir Walter Scott Witherspoon Edinburgh airport . Great on a cold night in front of fire!!!
