Originally brewed at Belhaven for Innis & Gunn. Production moved to Wellpark - date unknown.
NOTE: This is the same beer as the Oak Aged Beer Rum Finish. According to Innis & Gunn "they are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same."

Has also been seen at 6.8% (Rum Aged)
Ingredients: Golden Promise and Crystal malt; Phoenix hops.
We are delighted to present this unique limited bottling of Innis & Gunn finished in oak barrels which previously contained navy rum. Maturation in special oak barrels imparts Navy rums with the sweet, spicy character for which they are renowned. We have long wondered what flavours might be imparted to our beer by finishing it in these same barrels and earlier this year we decided to find out. We brewed a special batch of Innis & Gunn beer and matured it in oak for 60 days. Every single drop spent half of that time in American oak barrels before being refilled into selected navy rum barrels to finish the lengthy maturation. Once the beer had absorbed the unique character the barrels were emptied, the beer blended and then maturation continued for a further 47 days until all of the flavours had married together and mellowed. We think the result is absolutely delicious!

Noze: Cherry is very present with alcool hitting after. A small touch of caramel with a bit of spices. Nice red color but with almost no head. I tought at first that it was flat but was not the case.Very warm attack because of alcool. A lot of sugar: cherry, candy cane, sugar cane; probably because of rum infusing. For those who like beers with a lot of sugar. Would be perfect with blue cheese.

Bottle 330ml at the Bull&Castle. Brown color, towards copper. Small head. Aroma of rum, alcohol. Odd, like being at a dockyard. Taste is sweet, rummy, vanilla, somewhat spicy, but light. Really good but can be tiring. I recommend for 1

Better than most Innis & Gunn offerings - mostly because the oak flavours arent as overwhelming as usual. Has a nice smooth malty profile with a nice level of spices and smooth rum finish.

glassware: Innis and Gunn...occasion: Shark Tank retruns to TV!...aroma: rummy, for certain, with its trademark I&G whisky maltiness... intriguing as with all their brews...appearance:cognac-bodied, thinly headed with an unassuming white rim...palate: thick, soda-like fizzy body that has a syrup drip...taste: definitely vanilla and fruity esters combine wth an aggressive, bold strength...overall: a challenging brew that doesnt quiet have the spive that the bottle proclaims; it is noticeably alcoholic in its exhale

Bottle from Systembolaget, Haparanda. Nice dark amber looks and a dissapering bubbly head (which is always a small minus). Wood and rum in the aroma and taste. Quite dry, not very sweet. Decent body but a bit thin for the ABV.

330 ml, flaske, 6,8 % ABV, købt i Netto, 24. oktober 2014.

A lot of wood and alcohol present. Booziness ruined this one for me :/.

Vriltn tumma, coca-colan vrinen, hyvin heikko vaahto, kupliva olut. Haju makeahko, ehk hivenen toffeinen. Maussa hieman rommia, toffeeta, ei kuitenkaan hirven vahva olut maultaan, vaikka prosentteja onkin. Hyv, mutta odotuksiin nhden pettymys.
