1/2/13. 12oz bottle. Clear amber orange pour with a nice khaki head that fades to a couple of millimeters and laces lightly. Sweet, malty aroma with caramel, toffee, vanilla, and a hint of booziness. Sweet caramel and toffee in the flavor as well, with oak, vanilla, and more booziness that I can’t particularly nail down as spiced rum. Eh. PictouRx (182) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2013
Had this from LCBO in 330ml bottle. Pours a medium tan clear color, medium foam head dissapates quickly. Has butterscotch, caramel vanilla, aroma, with sweet smooth taste to it, and rum like notes overall. This is not bad wouldn’t partake all the time but for being different it is ok. timberrr (43) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2012
Pours a bronze color with a slight white head which dissipated almost immediately. Aroma of butterscotch, spices and a hint of booze. Tastes a lot of vanilla and spicy rum with a dry finish, can get hints of the oak and is slightly buttery. Pretty light body, with moderate carbonation. Overall a decent beer although not something I would seek out on a regular basis. PorterPounder (8070) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Bull Run (Thomasville Rd) - 12 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling medium copper with a thin off-white colored head, very light lacing. Faint trace of vanilla and cherries in the aroma, a hint of oak. Flavor has some light butterscotch, a hint of vanilla, some biscotti-like malty notes a hint of toffee sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Not a bad novelty. Aurelius (5371) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 22, 2012
Raisiny, cakey, black rum aroma. Clear embossed bottle, good label. Clear, light maple syrup color, filmy white head. Flavor=Meh. Woody. Weird bitterness -- it’s a little like tasting vanilla extract straight. Light body, alcohol/spice bitter finish. Nothing lovely. ABC, Bull Run.

Amber with a tiny white head. Fruity with oak notes. malt, caramel, oak and fruit. Medium to full body with a bitter sweet finish. bhensonb (15338) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Bottle from Half Time. Pours clear copper with some transient beige bubbles. Aromas of rum spice, mild treacle and arguably oak. Med body. Flavor is a bit of vanilla, rum spice, and a touch of treacle in the finish. Arguably finishes dry. There is a little bit of oak astringency in the very end. I tend to like these funny beers. But then I like Newcastle Brown too. kevinsenn (2236) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 2, 2012
Bottle from LCBO. Pours crystal clear amber with a thick frothy white head - gorgeous. Fruit, rum, sugar, tea, and vanilla dominate the aroma. The taste is quite mild - fruit, vanilla, toffee, with a big rum aftertaste. Good body and carbonation. Nothing really wrong with this, but it’s quite plain; it seems by adding the "spiced" into the mix, they’ve dulled down the rest of the beer - the regular "rum aged" version is better. cfrancis (3474) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 25, 2012
Pours a clear amber with a small quickly disappearing white ring. Aroma is the traditional I&G toffee oak with a sweet rum. Taste is sweet toffe and butterscotch with a dry oak mouthfeel. A small spice rum finish with the sweet rum. Stldsf1 (616) - Florida, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Malty and oaky nose. Pale copper pour. Oak, rum, malts. Good but considering how great the original rum cask is this is disappointing.
