Sample at DØE 2013. Amber colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of caramel, oak, vanilla, spice, fruit and rum. Rune (13720) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2013
330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Bubbly off-white head that stayed well and left fragile lacing behind. Bright amber coloured body. Oak vanilla on the nose, notes of nuts and rum as well. Vanilla ice cream taste alongside hints of ripe fruit and wood, spiced with cinnamon. Herbal hops to the aftertaste, bittersweet. Soft carbonated. Surprisingly easy to drink. I like drinking a bottle of the Innis & Gunn’s beers now and then (at home in Tromsø, 28.09.2013). Idiosynkrasie (8190) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 2, 2013
330ml bottle. Clear copper colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Aroma has toffee and oak notes, a touch of vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet malty, notes of toffee, oak, a touch of vanilla, a slightly biting mixture of pepper and bitter hop. RD400F (233) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 1, 2013
Bottle to trappist glass. Appearance is a transparent reddish amber with a small rapidly disappearing white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, butterscotch, slight citrus sour, slight skunk, wood, licorice...this is fairly complex. Taste is coffee, vanilla, butterscotch, oak and even some hop bitterness though faint. Unsurprisingly there are notes of rum as well. Palate is smooth, well balanced, co2 low, drinks quite nice. Overall a very nice beer from I&G, their stuff is usually good but they should consider ditching the clear bottles. vanvenlo (1924) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2013
Slowbeer bottle (1-Oct-13) Lovely sweet woody caramel molasses spice aroma. Nice red orange colour, poor head and suds lacing. Sweet caramel malt rum vanilla spice flavour but a bit simple. Rum spice mouth warming finish and light tangy sweet vanilla aftertaste that dies away quickly.

330 mL. 6.9%. Pours a ruby amber brown colour with a tan foam that bubbles away slowly. Way lighter in colour and body than Rum Cask. Aroma is roasted malts, oak, rum, allspice and toffee. Taste is quite smooth, lightly hopped and rich in roast malt flavour. Finish is quite sweet, honey, toffee, and that oaky tinge as you swallow. Delicious. fonefan (52342) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 8, 2013

Bottle 330ml. clear glass.
Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, malt, toffee, wood notes, alcohol - spiced alcohol notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, malty, toffee, fudge, caramel, spiced rum notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Some cabbage notes blend with sweet and spicy rum and vanilla in the nose. Clear deep golden body is topped by a shy, white, rapidly diminishing head that leaves just a ring. The flavour is quite sweet but drinkable with the spiced rum pleasantly apparent. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Bottle. Flute. Fridge temperature.
