Some cabbage notes blend with sweet and spicy rum and vanilla in the nose. Clear deep golden body is topped by a shy, white, rapidly diminishing head that leaves just a ring. The flavour is quite sweet but drinkable with the spiced rum pleasantly apparent. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Bottle. Flute. Fridge temperature.

0.33l clear bottle wrapped in a paper box. Have to admit that its some time since Ive had a Innis & Gunn beer now, but it looks like it should. Whisky colored and crystal clear in the glass with a small quickly islandy off-white top. I like the sweet caramelly nose with peppery and spicy tones. A little bit of butter and butterscotch also wrapped in between here. Surprisingly smooth in the mouth with a light oily almost creamy mouthfeel wrapped in a average small bubbly carbonation level. It has that well known sweetness that all their beer has, in addition to this a peppery spicy and woody flavor. Im actually liking what Im tasting. Not cloying at all and there is a well balanced little hint of alcohol all the way that makes it a bit more interesting. Im no big rum drinker, but I think Im tasting the rum as well and it has a vanilla theme all the way through. Not bad at all. 11.07.2013

330ml bottle as part of the innis and gunn xmas giftpack at the lcbo. Amber pour, small white head. Typical innis aroma, butter, and caramel malts. I cant say im finding any rum or spice. The butter seems to die off and doesnt linger very much like past innis offerings. There is a quite sweet, and fruity finish, with a very light bitterness. But overall its pretty meh.

The aroma is very much like oak aged spice rum with butterscotch and malt. The appearance is amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a very solid ale.

Bottle 33 cl, SB. Pours deep red amber with a nice beige head leaving lace. Aroma is sweet, spicy, ginger, barrel, vanilla and acidy. Flavor is sweet, floral, fruity, spicy, vanilla and bitter. Thin to medium body, a bit boring. Finishes bitter fruity.

Clear dark brown with lasting light brown foam head. Aroma is rum dominated with some sweet fruit notes. Taste is quite sweet, some fruits, some caramel, but mostly rum. Short aftertaste. (Farstanäs 201307) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Amber, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light dark fruitiness - vinous notes, light spiciness - rum, light vanilla/oak, light alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish, some caramel, some dark fruitiness, light vanilla, some alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, faint caramel, and faint fruitiness and light vanilla, alcohol. OK aroma, but finish almost totally lacks fruitiness - too much alcohol in the finish. Aroma/flavor not in balance.
