3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma has hints of cereal malt with a strong sweet woody backbone. Appearance is an awesome clear amber with light carbonation bubbles. No real head, though small carbonation bubbles come up to the surface frequently. I’m actually not a fan of the taste compared to the non-spiced rum cask I&G. Taste is a medium sweetness balanced with medium/heavy bitterness. Can definitely tell the spiced rum character, and it’s nice, but not amazing. Palate has a medium body, texture feels thin and oily. Carbonation is fizzy, and there is an long bitter/astringent finish.
Overall, I LOVE the idea of this beer, and I’m a big fan of their normal rum cask version, but the taste just wasn’t what I was hoping for. I think personally it need much more sweetness to it.

Pours dark amber from the bottle. The head is fizzy and rapidly deteriorates, soon vanishing entirely. The aroma is rum-ladened with hints of oak and vanilla - it is not, however, particularly strong. Taste is toffee sweet with a light rum kick going into the finish. Oak and vanilla round out the flavor. Palate is to the light side of medium, and a touch too thin for me. The barrel flavors are very nice, but still cannot make a great beer out of a mediocre one. Szkockie piwo dojrzewające 57 dni w beczkach po rumie. Kolor ciemno herbaciany. Zapach słaby, słodowy, minimalnie rumowy. Piana zostawia okrąg. Spore wysycenie. Smak troszkę rumowy, gorzko miodowy, treściwy. Czuć słodowość. stouby (4786) - Holbæk, DENMARK - MAY 13, 2016

Copenhagen //5 2016. 33 cl bottle from Rema1000. Classic Innis & Gunn look but in dark bottle. Declares that this beer is full-bodied and bursting with fruit and spicy notes. I can’t hardly wait. Pours deep amber with white head. Evaporates almost completely upon pouring. Aroma is sweet of vanilla, caramel, rum and a little alcohol. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is quite sweet as well. Reminds me a little of sherry. You can actually taste the rum the beer is named after. Very typical I&G - and if you like their brand of beer, this is a fine specimen. Pours a ruby red with a big frothy off white head. Aroma is of toffee, caramel, wood, and spice. Tastes of toffee, caramel, spice, and vanilla. Has a smooth light body with average carbonation. Surprisingly this beer is quite refreshing. slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 5, 2016
from the same Total Wine the old arse blonde was from. This was much better, though also seemingly past it’s prime. Muddled malts, with a light spice and boozey oak finish. Just ok.
