COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited bottling of Innis & Gunn has been finished over oak infused with Caribbean Spiced Rum. The result is absolutely delicious, bursting with the flavours of Caribbean spices along with our signature notes of vanilla, toffee and oak.

Draft at the Khyber strongly appears to be this version. Definite sugar rum elements but not convinced it is the aged version. Medium-light caramel flavors. Butterscotch. Vanilla bourbon. Cinnamon. Fresh oak. Honey tangerines. Hints of some heathery peat in the dry finish. Complex aroma but feels a bit thin.

330 mL bottle. I admire their forays into more adventurous finishes, but I still wish they’d solid up their base beer. This one has the typical buttery vanilla notes in the nose, with hint of some underlying wonderfulness in a spicy-boozy note. Alas, it is not to be. While better than most of their offerings, this one is let down by the uninteresting base beer. The rum notes are there, the spice notes are questionable.

Bouteille 330 ml. 7.4%.

Pours dark amber with a large head. Nose shows lots of toffee and butterscotch along with vanilla and soft spiced apple. Very sweet-smelling. Equally sweet flavours. Maybe too sweet. More butter, butterscotch and toffee. Incredibly sweet. Could use a lot more carbonation.

Reimer96 (1778) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2013
Pours a clear medium copper with a small white ring. Aroma of vanilla, oak, toffee, spices and some sweet dried fruits. Taste is oak, spiced rum, vanilla, toffee and a clean and crisp bitterness on the finish. Decent touch.

A mid amber orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A distinctly ’Innis & Gunn’ aroma, woody, vanilla, buttery and sweet caramel, plus a hint of alcoholic Rum. Full mouthfeel. A full-bodied sweet taste, all the usual elements of wood, vanilla, and caramel, then a slightly tart alcohol flavour, suggesting the Rum. The finish is a tad dry as the woody flavours come to the fore.

Pours a brown colour. Taste is sweet and malty, some candy. A fairly typical Innis and Gunn beer

We can recognize the Innis & Gunn signature all over this beer: caramel and toffee...only. And that’s the problem with this brewery; same old candy beer all the time.

7.4% ABV: 330ml bottle. BBD Sep 15, poured into a Gordon badged thistle shaped glass at home on 6th Mar 15 during a Scottish tasting evening I had with myself. Looked lovely, clear toffee apple red/amber with a creamy head in colour and texture. Caramel and toffee nose, very malty in all aspects. I wanted to find Rum and spices but failed in the aroma. However both Rum and spices did appear in the taste, the flavour was a bit too sweet though, even for my sweet tooth, vanilla notes arriving mid-sip and adding to the sweetness, just when a hop bitterness might have calmed down the whole brew and helped to balance out the sweetness. I actually liked it a lot more than most beers I have had from these guys.

Szkockie piwo dojrzewające 57 dni w beczkach po rumie. Kolor ciemno herbaciany. Zapach słaby, słodowy, minimalnie rumowy. Piana zostawia okrąg. Spore wysycenie. Smak troszkę rumowy, gorzko miodowy, treściwy. Czuć słodowość.
