India Pale Ale first made its name in the 19th century. Heres hoping our pioneering IPA can make its mark too.
Its fervent hoppy character hails from the unique addition of large quantities of hops at three separate points during brewing. The result is a beer thats rounded yet refreshing, with delicate floral notes and oodles of zesty freshness.

Colour
Pale gold
Smell
Freshly mown grass, clean grapefruit and pine trees
Taste
Rich vanilla from the oak, with lots of zestness and a light bitterness from the hops
Finish
Full bodies, but still crisp and refreshing.

330ml bottle. Pours golden amber, not much head. Aroma is like Lager, with more bready, biscuit malt. Vanilla, caramel and some oak wood in the taste which is nice, but finishes like a Macro Lager with a touch more bitterness. Hmmm not an IPA. I dont hate it, but Its nothing special.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2017 0.33l bottle. Paaale yellowish golden, tiny white head. Herbal/vegetable industrial lager aroma, very soft sweetish barrel touch. Sweetish barrel/vanilla notes on top of a neutral lagerish body. Completely clean, dull, dunno. Technically a nice little slightly oaked golden ale. IPA this never was.

For me everything this beer claims to be is a fraud. Minimal Oak, medium bitterness, some grass aroma. More of a Ranier Ale than an English Strong Ale.

Bottled on March 2, 2017. Part of a blind tasting.
Clear, golden color. White head. Light acidic, some grainy malty notes, hop lacking scent. Low bitterness. Malty, some vegetables, grainy, bitter taste. Some hoppy notes in the aftertaste. MEdium mouthfeel with lowish CO2.
Blind tasted too see if this held up as an English IPA, I wouldve almost guessed it was some sort of lager or california common.

Botella clara. Golden colour, medium white head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Sweet flavour, caramel, malt, hoppy like fruit, something herbal.

33 cl bottle. Pours sparkling clear pale golden. White head is thick but short-lasting. Aroma is conifer trees, pine resin, honey and a hint of ginger. Fizzy, fresh, medium-bodied, quite bitter and long-lingering.

woooooo unknown age bottle out of the box of mysterious hand-me-downs. Irrelevant. I have not tried an I&G beer in probably 7 years for a multitude of reasons - most notable being I think they mostly suck. This, aside from the butterscotch, actually tastes ok. Not that I think they tasted horrible but why spend money to be booooooooored. The taste is pretty good I guess as long as i realize this aint no IPA. light hop bite, vanilla, sweet soft caramel, some other stuff.
