Good carbonation with an earthy fruit and spice aroma. The beer has a light amber colour with an ecru head and good lace. Smooth malty start with earthy notes of rye expanding into the middle. Long finish with peppery notes and spice appearing and blending with other flavours. Complex but not assertive. More roggenbier than saison. Pours foggy reddish brown with a frothy off white top. Aroma is rye spice and small cardboard. Taste is a little oxidated, nice warming spice and low yeast.

Bottle from Beaches LCBO brought home by Mrs Tiki on a Friday night. Pours deep brown with a fluffy cap. Messy beer. Smells like rust. Saison fail. Everything I like about the style is missing here. Couleur rouge orangé limpide typique des bières de seigle, avec un nez épicé, fruité et piquant typique des saisons belges. Carbonation plutôt forte, texture moyenne. La bouche est simple mais exquise : l’épice poivrée de la levure saison vient en contact avec le terreux boisé, dans un face-à-face de saveurs complémentaires. Copper pour, with a thin bubbly head that is gone in a blink. Don’t think I’ve ever had a Rye Saison hybrid before. This is predominantly a rye ale. Getting lots of rye bread and grains. There is some pepper on the swallow, especially as it warms, but that is the only real Saison characteristic that I am getting. pours hazy copper-orange, red tint, with a small reviving off-white cap, some lacing. acidulated berries and other red fruits, tart-ish rosé wine, zesty and peppery ssaisoewn yeast, peppery rye bread, red toffee, astringent herbs, carbonic acid, minerals. foamy carbonation, light body, dry spicy-peppery finish. not a plain rye saison for its almost vinous components but a poor bottling control combined with a weak execution makes this one clearly forgettable. robinvboyer (4667) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2016
Bottle from the lcbo. Clear Copper pour, medium off white head. Aroma is slightly nutty, and lightly caramelized. Soft spice and grains with some light, bright grassy notes. Finish has little bitterness, grassy, cereal notes in the end. A little heavy on the malts, little too sweet.
