Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma is sweet with notes of honey and a bit of metal. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, metal, honey, and a bit of straw, leading to a bitter finish. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2009
16.9 oz bottle 4/29/09 (Binny’s-Naperville)-Pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, dough, honey, and grains. Taste begins with malt and honey that last throughout wth a hint of hops then back into the malt. This medium bodied brew is not my cup of tea but still tasty. Golden-bronze with a frothy head. Aroma pleasures the olfactory senses will a well-formed, rich maltiness with a malt ball quality to it. The flavor again is pleasantly malty all the way through. Perfect, medium body. Consistent maltiness on the palate with no off flavors. Toasted malt on the finish adds a nice warming quality that belies the 5.6% ABV. Well-balanced without noticeable hopping. The toasty malt sweetness hits the right pitch, and never becomes too much. This beer seems bigger than it is. Exceptionally quaffable. Dark golden to light amber in color with a smooth looking off-white head that diminishes over a relatively short period of time to a thin lid and a decnet coating of lace. A lightly musty to mushy malty aroma. Some dough and a bit of honey and dry floral to herbal hops. Not the cleanest scents. LIght caramel and honey flavors in the front. Hints of herbal hops in the middle. Nice soft feel. Sharp finish in that the sweetness seems to hide away with just a bit of acidity. A mild return of light fruit and malt in the linger. Not overly exciting, but certainly a quaff-able brew. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - FEB 14, 2009

Pretty solid and sessionable beer. A little bit sweet with a lot of biscuity malt; some herbal, honey and grass/earth i nthe finish. Good.
