JorisPPattyn (10137) - BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2018
Huge, very dense & fine pale whipped cream head, very stable over foxy amber to acajou beer. Bread, chestnut, sweet brown bread; smells very dark Bock-like. Sweet, but a bit wry, woody, dry bread, health mix, but with maltsugar, marzipan. Bit mushy, slick, not very carbonated actually, looks like all the CO² knocked out at pouring. More Dunkler Bock than Dubbel, lacking a bit of character. 6/4/7/3/13

14/X/17 - 33cl bottle from ... who? @ home - BB: 19/VI/19 (2017-1780) Thanks to the person who got me this, I'm pretty sure I didn't buy it myself...

Clear purple brown beer, big creamy off-white to beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of Nesquick powder, caramel, sweetish. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of chocolate milk powder, ripe banana, caramel, some dried fruits. Aftertaste: sweet, alcohol, banana, caramel, slightly sourish.

Bottle. Pours murky amber brown with a small, fizzy beige head that settles as a thin film. Aroma has sweet malts, raisins, esters aplenty, figs, light milky touch. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, caramel, light chocolate, grainy, somewhat homebrew-like. Warming, alcoholic finish.

blackisle (2936) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2017
Bottle 33cl. from a local AH supermarket, @home poured into a trappist glass. Hazy deep amber, tall beige head, good retention, fair lacing; aroma toasted malts, caramel, light dark fruits; taste light heavy sweet and light to medium bitter, toasted malts, toffee, brown sugar, touch of chocolate, metallic notes; sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, burnt caramel; medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation; decent, not a fully convincing dubbel.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2017 Kolor brązowo bordowy, nieprzejrzysty. Piana w kolorze ecru, wysoka, średnio trwała, zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków.  W aromacie owocowość, nuty popiołowe, rodzynki, figi, słodycz i trochę akcentów chlebowych. Smak: podobnie jak wyżej, owocowość, akcenty chlebowe, jest nieco kwaskowo i ponownie nuty popiołowe.Goryczka sucha, pestkowa na finiszu. Piwo ma fakturę gładką, miękką. Dobrze ukryty alkohol, zbyt wysokie nasycenie i średnia pełnia to kolejne cechy tego piwa.
