10 oz snifter glass at the brewery taproom. ABV listed as 7.7 on the board at the taproom. Enjoyed with my boss after a day of selling brewing supplies! This was a great brew.. Its a beautiful red-brown with beige head, and a nice malty aroma. The flavor is sweet malt and caramel with a little booze. Not too sweet but just right, and delicious. I didn’t detect any coffee flavors, and I am a real coffee fiend. Its what you expect and want in a Scotch Ale.. An excellent effort by Intuition Ale Works. The only way it could have been better is if they served it in a real pint glass. Jlo7399 (218) - Florida, USA - OCT 13, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2011 Had to re-rate after reading yayforbeers and realizing what I wrote. Growler from the brewery. Pours a deep reddish brown with two fingers of off-white head and great lacing. Smells of sweet malts and a little roastiness. Taste is caramel malts that turns to bready malts and a little hop bitterness. Toffee is ever present throughout. It warms on the way down due to the booziness. Nice smooth palate and excellent finish. I bought a growler and drank the whole thing myself...I just couldn’t stop. This is one of my favorites from Intuition. jbruner (4688) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours a hazy copper brown on tap with a thin khaki head and light lacing. Aroma of peppery rye, hint of piney hops, nice caramel and toasted malts. Taste follows with a bitter finish, but overall well balanced and easy to drink considering the abv. Pretty darn good. stevencon (522) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2013
Tap at proof. Deep amber almost black tan head. Chocolate fudge prunes and dark bread aroma. Malt figgy prunes with a chocolate finish. Dry bready kind of reminds me of the dark bagel chips in check mix. A bit warming but not boozy. Good beer maybe a bit thin for style. Malty goodness. Brown black pour with no head or lace. Aroma of light roasted malt, light abv. Flavor mirrors the aroma with a sweet maltiness added. Medium bodied with good carbonation. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - FEB 11, 2013
1/22/13. On tap with the stud that rated this below me. Deep brown pour, lots of reds under the light, with almost no head at all. Rich caramel and molasses in the aroma and flavor with a touch of booze hiding in there as well. Tasty. aracauna (3584) - Georgia, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Nicely malty. Cheque and earthy. Mildly bitter in the finish. Nutty. Not a bad malt-focused beer. Aurelius (5287) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - APR 8, 2013
Interesting aroma -- lightly furity, doughy, floral/perfumy. Dark ruddy beer, looks almost clear, hard to tell in this dark room. Short, dense tan head. Tangy, earthy, fruity - green plum. Tannic. Slick mouth, heavy body, a little soap in the aftertaste. Winey and slightly twiggy/herbal occasionally. Pretty good. On tap, Proof, downstairs. djd07 (14354) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 18, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with ruby hue. No head. Aroma is caramel malt and raisin. Medium mouth with sweet malt, caramel and raisin with sweet finish.
