Happy Birthday to me Beer -- Batch two: Poured into a tulip with light brown one inch thick head, color is opaque brown. Aroma is strong bourbon with black licorice and roasted malt. Flavor is the same with a little bit of a bitterness at the end from hops. Also, detecting vanilla, heavy vanilla on further sips, as it warms I start to detect a tobacco flavor. Overall I am very pleased with Intuitions swing at my favorite style. I hope they continue to attempt and improve upon this. jbruner (4691) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pours an opaque black on tap with thin tan head and little lacing, but a nice brown film on the glass as it goes down. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, oak, slight coffee and roasted notes, with a hint of spice on the back end. Taste is really complex as well, bourbon and vanilla up front, chocolate and dark fruits in the middle, a nice alcohol and bitter finish. Great beer, the best I have had from Intuition. UPDATED: JAN 24, 2013 On draft (luckily) on 1/23. Pours dark brown with thin tan head, good retention on the lacing. Nose is bourbon, chocolate, and roasty. Taste is very balanced. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and the bourbon just smooths it all out. Palate is much improved from the last batch. Best stuff they’ve put out yet. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2012
On draft at Green Room. I was very happy to see this one still around! Pours a dark stout brown with a tan head. Nose is bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, booze, and spices. Flavor is similar with chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and coffee, with the spices somewhat lessened in the flavor. Nice barrel flavor to this one without knocking me off of my chair. Medium in body and delicious all over the place. El_Jefe (62) - - JAN 25, 2013
Dead on. It starts with the aroma that indicates a strong porter with the bourbon notes. The beer itself is super smooth and the bourbon and wood flavors are there, but the beer itself highlights

22oz, purple waxed bottle, via trade. pours a deep, dark brown with garnet highlights that sits black in the glass capped by a whispy beige head. aroma is truly excellent, right up my alley, with big, sweet barrel notes of vanilla, graham crackers, brown sugar, and spice cake backed by chocolate icing, roast, and light espresso. flavor is delicious as well with the dark chocolate, roast, and expresso notes of the stout taking a front seat to the subtle notes of toasted barrel, vanilla beans, bourbon, and brown sugar with a touch of dry pecans on the back end. palate is a touch thinner than i’d like but still holds up very well with light carbonation and a hint of warmth. overall, this beer was a great use of those woodford barrel and is damn tasty. 50belair (3617) - Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Dark brown/black pour with a brown head. Roasts malt aromas. Creamy with smooth dark roasts malts, coco, and oak highlights. Good body and mouthfeel. djd07 (14366) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 18, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with tan head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roast coffee, wood and cocoa. Thick mouthfeel with roasted malt, chocolate, oak, light booze finish, very impressive. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 3, 2013
The beer is dark brown with a thin beige collar. The aroma is fabulous! Bourbon and roast. Huge oak bourbon presence. The flavor is great as well. So easy to drink. Abv hidden very well. Medium bodied and smooth. What a great beer.

Bottle @ Bill’s house. Thanks Bill! Pours a dark brown appearance with a brown head. Woody, sweet bourbon, chocolate, toffee aroma. Delicious caramel, toffee, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon flavor. Nice stuff!
