500ml bottle. Notes of burnt almonds, coffee and toasted barley. Dark amber in colour with a one finger head leaving lacing on the glass. A good example of your typical esb - medium hops and medium body but this one is slightly thicker with a satisfying creamy body to it. Nothing great but fairly sessionable.

Pours a deep amber with a medium frothy off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, rye bread, citrus. Taste is caramel and nutty with light bready notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Bottle. Dark Brown in colour. Very Malty; sweet roasty malts, wheat, lots and lots of chocolate, caramel. Hoppy; spicy, slightly earthy, hops,. Nice malt/hop balance. Sweet roasty chocolaty malts meet spicy earthy hops. Dry roast malty finish. Very tasty. Liked this a lot. Nice beer! (2010-06)

Nice, had this once or twice before years ago and drank from the bottle. Poured into a glass and I always thought it was a Stout/porter. It’s a dark red ale. Lovely, roasted malt coffee etc with a bit of bitterness. Easy to drink.

Parmenion777 (297) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2016
Pours a dark amber with a loose off white head. Malty, caramel and toffee aroma some earthiness. Similar taste, malty sweet caramel with a moderate bitter finish. Nothing out of the ordinary but very drinkable.

Cask ale taste. Flat, a bit bitter. Not hoppy. Only 4.7%. Good beer to drink over a long time. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at JDWs in Surbiton. Dark pour. Fairly malty with hints of figs and Twiglets and nicely hopped to balance. Enjoyable.
