33 cL bottle. Pours slight cloudy reddish with a fully gone head. Aroma is whiskey malt and smoked. Smoked yet also sweet flavour. Lasting smoked and towards meady finish. Light warmth in the finish. Ungstrup (38248) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2009
Bottled. A hazy reddish beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of fruit as well as medium notes of malt, berries, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes fo beech wood smoke, as well as a light acidity, leading to a dry smokey finish. The alcohol leaves a ligth burn in the finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Travlr (25821) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 26, 2012
Draft. Hazy caramel color. Aroma of porkfat. Taste is meaty burnt pig flesh. Thick and chewy. Taste side by side with the Schenkerla Spezialrauchbier courtesy of Eric. The kiwi version is meatier. madmitch76 (25344) - , Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2013

Hazy deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Smooth palate, softish with very mild carbonation. Smoke! Initially too much smoke, but the palate adjusts a vaguely fruity tone comes through. Traces of lactose malt and hop citrus before the semi dry finish. All right but the smoke could be dialled down a bit!
(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yalnikim/bozoNZ. Pours a clear, dark amber with a creamy, beige head. Very smoky aroma with a whiff of caramel. Medium body, very sweet, burned caramel and then these fat, baconish Bamberg style smoky notes. Slightly burned in the finish. 310108 Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 19, 2012
Hazy dull orangey-amber. No head. Smokey aroma is beechy with light wood oven malts. Deep smokiness - I have no idea what manuka smoke is really like so I didn’t perceive that specifically. The malts are rich if unrefined. There is probably a bit too much yeast character for my tastes. A little bit of alcoholic strength in the finish. jtclockwork (17100) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Bottle with Yanick. Pours amber with off white head. Nose/taste of pulled pork, smoked caramel malt, fire pit, peat, smoked wood and light charcoal. Tons of smoke - very dominate in the nose and palate. Medium body.
On a side note, this is the second beer today I’ve had brewed with "manuka." Seriously. MiP (15960) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2008
Bottle, 6%. Good smoky aroma. Almost clear red and brown colour. Distinct smoke flavour, some smoked ham, good alcohol finish. Quite nice. bhensonb (15617) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours hazy copper with a slight, fizzy beige head. Aroma is smokey - but tolerably so. Med body - that thins quickly. Smoke is the flavor. Not bacon. Sort of mesquite. Good beer.
